Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning
This morning, Belle's enchanted and talking wardrobe had provided her with a blue dress suitable for everyday wear. An everyday dress and a ballgown was all any proper maiden needed, really, wasn't it?
After dressing she made her way to the common room to look for something to eat. Unfortunately none of the enchanted and talking objects in her room were able to provide food. The common room, however, was prepared to feed everyone after a song and dance routine that had clearly been practiced.
Eventually Belle was seated with a teacup (who was very cheerful to be used for drinking) and a plate of pancakes which she was very excited to be eating once the flatware stopped feeling compelled to be entertaining.
There was also a large serving dish on the counter full of something grey that the dishes insisted was delicious.
[Is everything in the common room singing "Be Our Guest" or similar to Belle and anyone else who comes in? Yes. Why? Because I could. Is this post open? Yes, though my availability may be sporadic.]

And even though the forest she lived in usually was an enchanted one, things didn't really sing there. Not nearly as much as she did, anyway, which was quite often, but the woodland creatures did sing along in their own way and they almost always joined her in dancing through the meadows.
But to think that it might be dishes and silverware was just incredible, and Astrid was absolutely here for it.

The teacup in her hand burbled an enthusiastic "yes we would!"

Which, of course, naturally, lead into yet another round of almost everything in the cabinets joining in to implore her that, no, truly, no imposition here! Just a lot of plates and teapots being cheerfully (and catchily!) insistant they they really would enjoy it if she would consider being a recipient of their hospitality.
And by the end of it, Astrid found herself with her own plate of pancakes and cup of tea and a small serving of the grey stuff that she was slightly less sure about and having a seat, and clearly very charmed by the whole thing.
"Well, I could hardly say no to an invitation like that! Thank you. I am exceptionally honored!"

Normally she might be suspicious of such an enchantment. Not this weekend. This weekend it was simply an unexpected, but also somehow perfectly normal, delight.
"Please let me know if the grey stuff truly is delicious. I haven't tried it yet."
The dishes protested at that. They had told her several times how delicious it was! And why would they, perfectly trustworthy dishes, lie to her about something like that?

"Do you live here?" she asked, with an eagerness to learn more of this rather wonderful place she'd found herself in yesterday. "Are the cutlery and the soup bowls always this hospitable?"

It certainly wouldn't get irritating after a day or so, right? And the flatware wouldn't get tired of the same old song and dance? Surely not.
"My wardrobe helped me dress this morning and last night, for the ball! I think she just magicked up the dresses when I needed them!"

Yeah, yeah, yeah, so she was getting the lines a little crossed, but it was fiiine.

Also couldn't say 'bullshit' either!

"Don't frighten them," Belle scolded. "Or they might not offer you breakfast and a song!"

And the teapot was hustling everyone to their places even as Belle spoke.
"And for the finale, breakfast! The pancakes are delicious. As is, I'm assured, the grey stuff."

Come Monday someone might be feeling very smug about how magical everything had been this weekend. For now she was just genuinely delighted by it all and wanted everyone to be delighted as well.

"I just want coffee," he said, struggling with the damn chair since he couldn't even stab it. Which was ridiculous.

"I believe there is coffee," Belle began, as the coffeemaker on the counter started a perky little tune and a mug danced in front of it. "Ah yes, there is!"
no subject
"Is there a cup that doesn't talk?" YOU HAD TO KNOW THAT WAS CREEPY, RIGHT?

But it was fine if they did! Astrid was very good at cleaning and other household things, so long as she did them with a song!

Said the guy in a black Peter Pan tunic, with a dumb shadow flitting around the room.

"Oh, I think it's fun," Astrid shrugged blithely, happily, with a bright smile. "They have such kind eyes, too, and their songs are delightful. It's amazing how many rhymes they can come up with for theh word spoon!"
no subject
"If this doesn't end soon, I'm going to do something unfortunate."
He'd figure out a way to do it!
no subject
She was clearly just asking so she could prepare herself! Or perhaps try her best to talk him out of it! Something unfortunate! How terrible!
