Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [02/01].

There appeared to be some new bookcases in the common room, including smaller ones that sat awkwardly on the table and the counters in the kitchenette, but not just any new bookcases. No, these bookcases appeared to be filled with breakfast pastries and sandwiches instead of actual books.

Was Wayne going to ask why there were all sorts of bookcases filled with breakfast pastries and sandwiches in the common room?

Hard. No.

Was he going to generally ignore the bookcases filled with breakfast pastries and sandwiches and get on his way to cooking up some proper breakfast as per usual?

Can confirm!

He supposed some people might have taken it as a sign that most of the work was done for him and he didn't need to bother with the usual stuff, but Wayne would much rather err on the side of having as little to do with island tom fuckery as possible.

Belle hadn't managed to get to the common room during one of Wayne's breakfasts yet but today was a snow day! as good a day as any to make an appearance. She did love breakfast foods, after all.

"Did you make all of this?" she asked, gesturing to the shelves of sandwiches and pastries. She didn't remember so many bookcases the last time she'd been in here. There certainly had been this many when everything was singing and dancing a few weeks ago.

"Jus' the stuff over here on the counter," said Wayne, nodding to indicate the pancakes and bacon and eggs and potatoes and what have you that made up his usual spread. "Anything on the bookshelves," he cocked his head toward the closest one, "jus' showed up."

Which sounded a bit like a warning, though it was probably fine.

Then his attention shifted toward Belle directly with a nod.

"Belle," he greeted. "How are ya now?"

It did sound a bit like a warning against the shelf food so Belle was going to give the pastries a quick longing glance before choosing not to eat them. For now.

"I'm well, thank you Wayne. And you? The food smells delicious."

"Good morn--"

Elli paused, eyeing the bookshelves, and then the way that Wayne was studiously ignoring them and making breakfast anyway.

"--ing?" she finished, with a questioning lilt to her voice.

"Elli." Wayne nodded, noting that he appreciated that she seemed to acknowledge the fact that he at least felt the bookshelves were worth just ignoring, in a way. "How are ya now?"
