Third floor common room- Thursday afternoon

Alexis had flown back from a photo shoot late last night, woken up late this afternoon, and decided that what she really needed today was Thai. So she placed an order for one thing, and when it showed up there were several bags worth of things.

"How!" she'd yelled at the delivery guy's retreating back. "How do you stay in business?"

He didn't hear her or didn't care, and now she was spreading out the food on the table for people to take. She was going to hoard her own container, though.

Alara was finished with classes for the day so she decided to check and see what was happening elsewhere, “hey,” she said with a smile when she noticed there was activity in the third floor common room and noticed there seemed to be a lot of good available, “is that Thai?” she was getting better about recognising different Earth cuisine.

"Yes!" Alexis said brightly. And I physically cannot eat that much nor would I want to do please take some!"

“Sure,” she smiled as she walked over to the good, “what would you recommend?” some dishes she recognised but others she wasn’t sure on.

"It's actually all pretty good for small town Thai," Alexis said. "The pad Thai is the classic, but then there's a couple curries..."

Alara nodded and helped herself to some of the dishes that Alexis had suggested, "so how have you been?" she asked once she had filled up her plate.

"I've been great," Alexis said. "One might even say fantastic. What about you?"

“Oh that’s good, I’m glad to hear that,” Alara smiled in response, “I guess I’ve been doing okay considering the weather and all, I think that’s the one thing I miss about home right about now … we don’t have temperatures this cold,” well she supposed there was the fact that her parents currently weren’t talking to her that would also count as being something not great that was happening but that was a whole different subject and she didn't think Alexis' would be that interested in hearing about her family's drama so she decided to not mention that.

"See, that's when you jet yourself into the other hemisphere or find a good island to go party on for a while. Then when you come back to a cold slushy mess you can trick your brain into thinking it's a ski weekend," Alexis advised.

Alara blinked, “Oh, I must admit I’ve not heard that as an option for dealing with the cold on this planet,” she admitted. "It was certainly not talked about in class today when we discussed what to do with hyperthermia,"

"For that you want a cute snowsuit to start, this way you don't have to strip them down and warm them up so they don't die," she said.

Alara was definitely learning there was a lot more involved with Earth weather than she thought, “oh…I’ll definitely keep that in mind,” she nodded.

"This is a lot of food," Tahani said, swanning in. "Did you get dumped?"

"I do not get dumped," Alexis lied. "The Thai place made a mistake. Or like.... so many mistakes."

"That's what someone who was dumped would say," Tahani said, poking through boxes. "Is there any Tom Yang Koong? I had it in Bangkok over the summer."

"You can check. I only know what I got," Alexis said.

And added, "Last time I was there it was kind of a quick little thing."

Tahani peered into something vaguely soup shaped and smiled at what she found. "This will do. It won't be entirely authentic, of course. What were you doing in Bangkok? Shopping? Drug smuggling?"

"Nooo," Alexis said witheringly. "I was on a girls' trip. One of my friends, though, she was drug smuggling though, so there was a quick getaway."

"Better than getting put into a Thai prison and then executed," Tahani said oh-so-merrily.

"I mean we're definitely too hot to execute but... I don't think they do caning there?" Alexis mused.

"I think that's Singapore," Tahani agreed.

Normal things that teenagers knew!

"Haven't been there yet... should probably avoid it just in case," Alexis said with a bright smile.

She was living her best life and getting into trouble, okay.

"I hear it's terribly stuffy," Tahani said.

"Like... weather climatewise or social climatewise?" Alexis asked.

"Socially," Tahani said, eyes wide.
