Dorm Roof, Tuesday Evening

The roof was for brooding, which wasn't at all what Five was doing. He was... okay, doing a little brooding. Because, for now, things were officially okay for his family and the planet as whole. And that meant he had nothing in particular to focus on.

Also, Belle was a sugar glider.

That was a thing that was happening this week.

"I'm fine," he informed the judgmental rodent. "Oh, don't look at me like that."

How could Five brood when faced with a tiny adorable face with such big eyes? And such clinging? There was so much clinging happening right now.

He both could and would!

"I'm not being ridiculous either."

If Belle were herself she would disagree vehemently. Since she was a sugar glider she was just going to fling herself into the air a bit to see what she could land on because tiny marsupial parkour was fun!

"We have discussed this!" Well, no. Because she was a sugar glider. But that didn't stop him at all. Just look at Dolores.

Imagine the tiny "wheee" that could be heard if only sugar gliders could talk.

But they couldn't. But at least they were alive.

Belle was just going to jump again, thanks.

"Stop that," Five hissed, already moving to catch her before she threw herself off the roof.

This might not have been the best moment for Five to try and catch Belle because Belle was very suddenly girl-shaped rather than tiny and fuzzy. Enjoy that armful of naked girl, Five!

But hey, he still kid of caught her! Even if his expression went from annoyed, to confused to a sort of blue screen thing in quick succession.

Belle's expression was mostly one of shock. First at being herself, second at being caught, and third at not wearing a stitch of clothing.

"What happened?" Clearly this was Five's fault and she could spare a few moments to snap at him. The damage had already been done, after all.

"Don't look at me for an answer, you're the one who turned into a rodent!" It was a marsupial, Five. God.

He did his level best to not look at her as he removed his jacket to give over.

That might be Belle's jacket now, Five. To go with the shirt.

"I didn't do it on purpose," she protested, pulling the jacket around herself.

"You would say that," Five said now that her modesty was attained.

"Because it's true! Where are my clothes?" Besides the jacket that was hers now.

[apocalypsehow]

"I don't even know where they went in the first place!" Ah yes, yelling. The best method of dealing with awkward.

[noonedecidesmyfate]

"Why didn't you keep track of them?" Belle asked, conveniently forgetting that when Five had turned into a cat the clothing he'd been wearing had just conveniently disappeared as well.

"I was busy dealing with a flying rodent!"

Maybe they shouldn't be doing this in public.

"Well, who asked you to do that?"

Belle. The same person who asked you to watch him when he was a cat. Honestly.

They should absolutely not being doing this in public while Belle was wearing a coat that was barely covering her.

"Common decency!" Which. Well. Five, that didn't sound like you at all.

"That hardly seems like you."

That was a bit ridiculous coming from a girl he'd saved more than once who was currently wrapped only in his coat so she wouldn't be standing on this roof completely naked.

Which was why he aggressively gestured at the coat and her, making deeply affronted squawking noises.

"That is a ridiculous noise," Belle informed him.

"Thank you for the coat."

[apocalypsehow]

It was a perfectly fine noise!

"You are insufferable."

[noonedecidesmyfate]

"What did I do now?" Belle demanded.

Besides turn into a tiny marsupial with a penchant for flinging herself off of things.

"I just thanked you!"

[apocalypsehow]

"You're welcome," Five replied. "And you know precisely what you did."

[noonedecidesmyfate]

"I most certainly do not. I haven't even been myself to know!"

Honestly, Five.

Five rolled his eyes because it was the best way to avoid dealing with the nudity here. "You should get dressed."

Oh, bringing attention to it.

"How am I meant to do that when you don't know where my clothes are?"

Belle. You have a dorm room full of clothes.

[apocalypsehow]

"You have more in your room!" Also, blame magic, Belle. It was magic's fault.

"I am not about to walk all the way to my room half naked!"

2/3 naked? Mostly naked.

[apocalypsehow]

Five sighed loudly and held out his hand for her.

Because this was clearly a great hardship.

Of course it was, Five. Holding hands with the naked girl you absolutely didn't like that you'd just spent a week taking care of. Terrible.

"Are you taking me to my room then?" Belle asked, taking his hand.

Like a gentleman?

[apocalypsehow]

"Apparently so." Yes. It was a yes. But he had to be surly about it.

"Thank you."

Belle wasn't prepared for a walk of shame. Especially since she hadn't done anything!

"I appreciate it."

[apocalypsehow]

"You better," he grumbled, taking her hand. "You owe me for all the rodent food."

And then immediately teleported them before she could counter that argument.
