Second floor common room, Saturday evening

TJ had called her mom and dad, tried very hard to not seem like she was regretting asking them not to come, talked to them, and had a good sleep last night. It had helped a little, but she was still pretty bummed.

So now she was perched on a couch in the common room with popcorn and ice cream (not together, though she was considering it), flipping stations for awful reality TV to watch and make fun of.

She was absolutely not sulking.

Hope it wasn't too much of a distraction TJ, but a likely familiar 'bamf' sound was gonna interrupt that no sulking for a moment as Kurt ported into the common room.

"Oh, sorry TJ," he said, turning to head out hopefully before she saw the look on his face. "Didn't mean to interrupt."

TJ sighed, but for once it wasn't actually directed at him. "Nah. Want some ice cream?"

"Actually.... ice cream sounds great right now," Kurt said with a slight grin as he headed to the kitchen. "Thanks..." he added when he came back and sat down on the couch with a bit of a defeated flop.

"Great weekend for you too?" TJ asked. She set the popcorn down between them.

"Ugggg..." Kurt said as a reply before reaching for a handful of popcorn. "Totally ruined Libby's visit with her family and basically made her cry," he said before glancing over at TJ. "You?"

"Thought my mom was visiting. It was a different version of her. Made her cry," TJ answered. "Go us." She held out her ice cream spoon for a "toast".

"Yeah, good job us," Kurt said lifting his own spoonful in reply. "And here the thing I was most worried about was Logan embarrasing me around her..." Kurt sighed. "I think I am ready for the weekend to be over."

"I met your Logan," TJ said, perking up just a little. "He's so young! My Uncle Logan's much older. He was cool, though."

"Yeah he's not bad," Kurt said trying not to sound too impressed, and failing. It was Logan after all doing a lot of the training work with him lately. "He and Ororo are my favorites actually. Scott is ok, but he can be really serious at times."

[scarlet_and_indigo]

"Yeah, I've never really met either of them." Given that Ororo was off doing her own thing and Scott was a villain. "Uncle Logan's family, though. Your Logan likes you, too."

One of the guys on the TV did something spectacularly stupid, and she threw popcorn at him.

"I'm sure your crew are thrilled to have you around too," Kurt said with a sincere nod. He paused for a moment to roll his eyes and laugh at the idiots on the show.

"I mean, I think your powers are pretty amazing,' he said continuing a moment later. "And I'm still really just starting to get to know you."

TJ shrugged. "I can toss bolts around. It's useful I guess, but it's pretty boring as powers go. And possessing people's not exactly practical. I always kind of wished I could teleport."

"The bolt thing is cool though. I wish I actually had an attack power or something," Kurt said looking over at TJ. "And the possessing people thing is like being a super spy!"

He gave a small shrug of his own as he thought about his own power.

"The teleporting is cool, I admit. But I cont go for very long before I get really tired. The farthest I've been able to go so far was taking Libby from down on the beach up to the top of the lighthouse. Logan and The Professor say I just need to "keep working and training hard" and stuff..." Kurt said with a small eye roll and definite finger quotes there.

"Ugh." TJ rolled her eyes, too. "They're right, though. My dad can go miles. And it's super useful in a fight, even if you can't go far."

"Maybe someday I can manage to get that far! Seems like such a long way away though." Kurt ducked his head a little shyly. "I... I still smack into walls at times as it is."

"Yeah, you might want to watch that. Don't take off your nose or tail," TJ said wryly.

She sighed heavily at another idiot on the TV.

Kurt gave TJ a smirk. He too then groaned and gestured his hand towards the idiot on the TV.

"Oh come on! It's eight there in front of you, ya big dumdum!"

"Ugh." TJ tossed the remote at him. "You find something else; my luck sucks."

"Well, let's see...." Kurt said as he started flipping through channels, stopping every so often.

"Theres a movie about people making dinosaurs.... Stupid people who think they are in love... Crazy alien people... Or a baking show."

He glanced over at TJ somewhat reluctantly.

TJ shrugged. "Dinosaurs are always good."
