Second Floor Common Room; Saturday Afternoon [11/19].

Last night, the topic of pillow forts had come up between Graham and Kurt, and now it was clear that Graham could not rest until another epic pillow fort was brought into the world. And, sure, pillow forts were fine by yourself, but the more, the merrier! So every door in the dorms had a nice little bright Post-It note slapped onto it:

Pillow Fort EXTRAVAGANZA!

Come to the second floor common room,
And make your pillow fort dreams a REALITY!

(that's blankets and pillows!)

See you there!

And once that was done, he went back to the room to grab as many blankets and pillows as he could carry (which was a lot), making sure to double-check that Gray wasn't wrapped up and sleeping in any of them, and drag them all to common room to get this pillos fort started!

Oh, Charlie was there with an armload of pillows and ready to charm the heck out of things to make the pillow fort nice and sturdy!

"PIllowfort!' she yelled cheerfully as she made her way into the common room.

"Pillowfort!" Graham called back eagerly, from behind a couch cushion, before his head popped up to see who it was. "Charlie! Hey! Welcome to the fort building! Maybe this time, we can actually stay alive long enough to enjoy it!"

Charlie laughed delightedly. "I don't know, we had a lot of fun playing dead. But I can definitely make sure it doesn't collapse on us. Unless we want it to."

"Those were some pretty great deaths that we had," Graham mused, smiling over at Charlie fondly, "weren't they? But I think...."

And here his head tilted a little.

"Could you make it so that only a portion of it collapsed? At a particular, given time? Toward the end? So that the hard work doesn't feel wasted, but anyone wanting to get crushed by softness can be!"

He would definitely be in the collapse.

"Yep, that's easy," Charlie said, "It's easy enough to undo a charm or change it whenever I want. You just tell me where and I'll do the rest!"

She'd want to be in the collpasing part too, because that sounded like great fun!

"Hmmmmmmmmm."

Clearly, such a decision required some very careful thought, at Graham gave the room a survey with squinted eyes and tapped his fingers thoughtfully on his chin all the while.

"I'd say," he finally decided, although that, too, he drew out until finally swinging a finger toward the corner of the room, "right there! That's the first section I built, so it only makes sense that it should oh-so-accidentally," going a little pink over it, he still threw in a wink at Charlie, "crumble right on top of us!"

Charlie nodded. "Perfect. "I can charm the rest to stay sturdy and then set that area to collapse on top of us."

Was she grinning? She was grinning. "And then we'll be all snug and cuddled up together under the comfy cushions."

Well, now Graham was grinning and very, very red. And he let out a suddenly very nervous laugh and couldn't quite look ast Charlie for a moment while he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, then," he said, rather boldly, he felt, which would explain the butterflies in his stomach as he looked back up at her, "we better get working, huh?"

"I suppose we should," she said, still grinning at him. "Sooner we get it built, sooner we can enjoy the collapse."

Had Gray seen the signs, or was he just looking for the rest of the blankets? Unclear. But here he was, wearing a blanket as a cape with a pillow tucked under his arm, yawning before he blinked a few times and said, "Hey, Graham."

"Hey, Gray!" Graham grinned over from where he had just finished draping a blanket over a attack of throw pillows. "Sorry for swiping all the bed stuff, but dire times call for dire measures! Or, well, dire forts call for all the resources!"

Gray gasped in delight. "A pillow fort!" Well, that answered whether he'd seen the signs or not.

Listen, he had limited resources.

"No one ever wants to do this with me!" Or no one wanted to clean up the living room after Gray fell asleep. Pick one.

"Really?" asked Graham, brows lifting, uncertain whether he felt more surprised by this tidbit or appalled. "Even with all those brothers you've got? I mean, I can usually convince even one of my sisters to join in more often than not."

"Raiden would, I think--and he would bring snacks--but he's always in the kitchen. Most of the others are too serious," aka boring, clearly.

Gray thought about it some more. "Also they're mostly a lot bigger than me, so I guess we'd have to make it a really big fort so they'd fit."

"It probably would be a little dangerous," Graham noted, giving a baleful look toward the kitchenette, "having a pillow fort in a kitchen...."

This, however. would not stop him. It wasn't like anyone was actively cooking right now!

"But bigger is better, right? We should definitely make a section big enoughew for the really, really tall people, although I don't think that includes many of us students."

They would just...avoid that part of the common room, maybe. It would be fine. "I can't think of many really tall students," Gray admitted, "but you never know! Plus it'll be good for me to practice for when I go home for the holidays." Because he was totally dragging Galen's grumpy ass into a pillow fort. It would be good for his soul or something. "Probably we'll have to use the furniture..."

"Oh, most definitely," Graham agreed with a nod, looking over the room as he attempted to map out this pillow-fort-in-progress, which would, hopefully, defy any attempts to be restricted and restrained by any mere architectural demands. "I think we can really make good use of the tables and chairs, too, and possibly bring some in from other common rooms if the situation calls for it."

One of the great things about being able to teleport around was Kurt didn't have to worry about lugging everything down the hall in one go. But he was there, all the same, arms filled with pillows and a blanket trailing along behind him a little.

"Ok this is awesome!" he said with a grin.

"And we've only just started!" Graham pointed out with an eager grin. "Good keeping up on the supplies! Teleporting makes lugging resources a breeze!"

"Aye! This is going to be a blast! " Kurt said as he dropped the pillows and blankets and started surveying what all had been done so far.

"The north quadrant," said Graham,nodding his head that way, "is pretty much open territory right now, if you want to claim it! Maybe if we get enough people, even, we'll fill up the whole common room and have to extend out into the hallway!"

"Consider it claimed then! I'm on it!" Kurt said with a smirk as he started pulling the pillows over that way.

"Good luck and godspeed, Kurt!" Graham said, lifting a hand to salute his bother in pillow fort building, eager go see how this all managed to come together.

Belle had never built a pillow fort. Clearly it was time to rectify this situation and she had an armload of pillows and blankets with her as she made her way down to the 2nd floor common room.

"I've brought a few things," she announced even though it was obvious.

"Awwww, awesome!" said Graham, eyes lighting up when he saw her come in. "Thanks,Belle! Those look like they're gonna be great!"

"Will they suit then?" Belle asked. "I've never built a fort of pillows before but it sounded like fun. And terribly cozy."

"Oh," Graham said emphatically. "Belle. It
Is. The coziest! You're going to love it! Get a little light in there, you can snuggle up nicely and read, or just have a nap, or try to find other people! And the beauty of it all is that any blanket or pillow will suffice! If they're all different, then that just makes for a more compelling and interesting design!"

"Perhaps I should get to work then," Belle said. "So we can get cozy sooner! Is there a trick to it? To keeping the blankets from falling?"

"Using some good strong pillows like couch cushions can be paramount in creating a good base between the furniture," Graham informed Belle, with the sage-like nod of a man who had much pillow-fort experience, "and you'll want to save the heavier blankets for supports that can handle it, like couches and chairs, and save the lighter ones for the pillow supports. Pillow pillars? PILLO-ARS!"

"That does make sense," Belle said, nodding. "The blankets are fairly light, I think."

"Then, here!" Graham took a moment to sweep down, and pick up two of the cushions he'd stripped from the couch between both his arms, and then swinging toward Belle to hand them over to her. "Take these! Figure out the best way to arrange them that works for a nice little cozy nook! And then we can probably drape a few more blankets between that and what I've started over here, so they'll be connected!"

"I'll do my best," Belle assured him as she dropped her blankets to take the cushions.
"Perhaps right in this corner? Or at the end of the couch there..."

The end of the couch would certainly be cozier and make a solid base for a blanket roof.

"And then some pillows inside to make it even cozier."

"Exactly!" Graham said, beaming at her. "And the fluffiest blankets! See, Belle? You're just a pillow fort building natural!"

He squinted his eyes at her, a suspicious look slightly spoiled by his grin. "Are you sure you've never done this before?"

"Not even once," Belle said, smiling back. "But you've given me a good example to work from and explained it so well."

"Well, I do have a lot of pillow fort experience," Graham assured her with a confident nod. "So you're in good hands. I hope we can get enough people in on it to make a pillow fort that'll cover the whole common room!"

"Did you build these often at home?"

Was it good knighthood training?

"Big ones?"

"Oh, all the time!"

And Graham could probably make the case that it was, indeed, great knighthood training....somehow!

"But usually not too big. If I tried to go too big, one of my sisters usually ended up knocking them over. They'd say it was an accident, too, but I'm not so sure about that....Definitely nothing as big as the whole common room, though, that's for sure!"

Guillermo had seen the sign and immediately gone and retrieved his pillows and blankets, that were definitely vampire related colours in blacks and reds.

“I’ve never made a pillowfort before,” he admitted, grinning as he entered the common room.

"You haven't?" Graham boggled at Guillermo for a moment, before shaking his head and hitting him with a grin. "Zounds, am I sure glad I decided to do this, then! We'll make you a pillow fort building expert in no time, Guillermo! You're gonna love it!"

Guillermo grinned, “it does look like fun, I should have made extra empanadas they seem like they would be the perfect snack for this,” he tilted his thoughtfully.

"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that!" Graham said. "We'll just order pizza for everyone later! Best use that energy on building the best pillow fort the world has ever seen!"

“I can definitely help eat pizza,” Guillermo grinned, “so what’s involved in making the best pillow fort?” he wanted to make sure that he could do the best job he could since this was definitely a very important pillow fort.

"What you'll need the most," Graham said, leaning in with a grin as he lifted a hand and subsequent fingers as he listed off his answer, "are blankets, pillows, and friends, and it looks like we've got all three!"

The friends part was even optional! But Graham wasn't about to tell Guillermo about all the forts he'd made without the third element.

"Furniture helps, too, because you can use those as supports, but sometimes, the pillows can be supports, too. Mostly, you just want to find out what can hold up the blankets enough that you can get underneath it and inside the cozy little comfy cave it creates!"

Guillermo beamed at the mention of friends, it was definitely still a weird feeling to think that he now had more than one friend, “it does sound really nice,” he told him, “and a lot of fun, I do like the idea of using as many pillows for support,” he added.

Smiling a little hopefully, Graham tilted his head and considered Guillermo for a moment. "Did...you....wanna help me out with this section I'm working on right here?" he asked. "Or do you think you want to tackle a new section all on your own?"

Guillermo started to go rather red, “I … I would like to help you with the section your working on,” he said rather shyly, “I … I would really like to help,” he managed to stammer.

Graham's smile went just a little uncertain; it wasn't that he hadn't noticed that Guillermo seemed to get all red and nervous sometimes when they talked to each other, but he had just sort of figured that was how Guillermo was. But, lately, he couldn't help wondering if maybe, just maybe, it might be something else...

"Would you want to work on stacking the pillows?" he offered. "Or draping the blankets?"

Not realising that Graham had maybe started to suspect certain feelings that Guillermo was having, Guillermo grinned, still rather red and considered the two options, “I - I think I would like to work on stacking the pillows,” he decided.
