Second Floor Common Room, Friday Afternoon

Gray should have known better.

He should have ordered food from somewhere else. But Raiden was family, and, honestly, that meant he knew how good his food was. But also, he was Raiden, and if restaurants around here were prone to send too much food before, well...Raiden. Sending food to his baby brother.

And now Gray had a Pizza Situation on his hands in this here common room. Also there were...dumplings? From Pizza Planet? He didn't even know.

He really hoped someone came along to help eat some of this soon. He wasn't sure he could fit it all in the fridge.

"Now that's a lot of pizza," Charlie said with a grin. "Hello, Gray."

Kurt had been spending most of the morning relaxing in the door room. But eventually, the rumbling in his stomach was too much to ignore, and while there would of course be food at the game session that evening, Kurt wasn't sure he wanted to wait that long. So he ventured out and headed to the common room to grab something to eat. But he stopped short and stared. "Wow... someone sure ordered a lot of pizza!"

"That's Raiden for you," Gray told her. "I should have known. Hey, Charlie. How's it goin'?"

"I actually didn't," Gray told him. "My brother just owns the place and doesn't understand how normal portion sizes work. Please eat some. Please?" He would give you the puppy eyes, Kurt.

"He does like his food," Charlie agreed. "And his pizza is sooo good! I'm doing well. I love the school and the island and pretty much everyone on it!"

No puppy eyes needed, Gray. Kurt was all teenage boy and all mutant at that so metabolism though the roof meant turning down food was hardly ever an option.

"Raiden sure does love his food doesn't he?" Kurt asked with a grin as he looked over at the types there were. "And sure, I'll take some off your hands! Not a problem at all. Was coming in to look for something to eat anyways."

"Yeah," Gray agreed. "He's a real glutton." Ha. "That's great! Please, take some pizza." He turned the puppy eyes on her. "Please."

"Yeah," Gray agreed, and then couldn't resist reusing, "He's a real glutton. And, hey, problem solved! We've got pizza, and more pizza, and I'm pretty sure I saw some mozzarella sticks, and, uh...dumplings?"

"Well, with eyes like that, how can I say no?" Charlie quipped. She set her guitar down and settled in with a slice of pizza. "So how have you been, Gray?"

"I've been good," Gray said. "Mostly. Mostly...good..."

There were onions on the slice of pizza he'd just chosen. How could Raiden betray him like this? He started picking them off.

"Not a fan of onions, I see," Charlie said, "I don't blame you. They're not my favorite on a pizza."

"Oh thanks! Sounds good!" Kurt said with a grin as he started grabbing some slices, along with the mozzarella sticks and even some of those questionable dumplings as well.

"So, how have you been doing?" Kurt asked as he finished loading the plate.

"They're just unnecessary," he grumbled. "But at least they're not anchovies." Blech. "Please tell me you don't like anchovies."

"Oh, you know," Gray said. "I've been...good. Went home for Christmas. Slept a lot. The usual. You?"

She pulled her slice away from her mouth to look at it agin. "Anchovies? No way. PLease tell me there aren't anchovies on this!"

"Got to see the folks and the team back at the Academy over the break, which was nice" Kurt said with a smile. "And I hear ya about the sleeping bit.. been doing a good bit of that myself lately. More than usual really."

"I don't think so? I haven't checked every pizza, but I think you would notice, right? I don't think Ray would do that to me..." But he might have thought, 'What if one of the other kids wants anchovies?' for all Gray knew.

"It's the winter," Gray sighed. "Everything is just grey and cold and nasty. I like it when it's sunny and warm." Of course, that was also excellent napping weather...

She sniffed at her piece carefully. "No, I think it's okay. I'd be able to smell them for sure."

"I can see that. I think everyone kinda goes into hibernation mode when it gets cold to a certain extent," Kurt said. "I think a bit of mine is the whole metabolism thing getting out of balance. The teleporting and all seems to be taking more out of me as I get better at it... so need to eat and sleep a bit more than I'm used to till things balance back out."
