Third Floor Common Room, Monday afternoon
When Belle arrived in the common room this afternoon she was greeted by the sight of a rather ridiculous amount of marshmallow candies stacked on a table. There were any number of different colors of bunnies and chicks as well as some different flavors.
"What's a Dr. Pepper meant to taste like?" Belle wondered. "Or Mike and Ike? Why are the marshmallows flavored with people?"
Hopefully they weren't really people but the flavors did have people names and that was a bit odd.
"These sparkly purple ones are interesting though. And wild berry seems like a reasonable flavor."
She hadn't even seen the Hot Tamale, Sour Watermelon, or Fruit Punch flavored ones yet."
There were so many marshmallows. Belle had no idea what to do with them all but perhaps a taste test would be in order.
[Open, obvs!! And you're welcome, intern porg.]

"Oh, wow," she said, eyes a little wide toward the table. "That's a lot of candy."
You'd think, by now, it wouldn't be so surprising, and yet...

She was picking out a little blue Peep, though, for a closer look.

And why the candy was people-flavored. It wasn't like these were snickerdoodles.

Nor would she likely ever be, especially considering that picking up the chick had turned out to be a mistake, now that she'd picked it up.
"They're actually almost too cute to eat," she found herself admitting, holding the marshmallow up with a little frown.
And now that she'd looked it in its eyes, there was no way she could eat it.

"Some of them are less cute. Some have melted eyes or eyes in the wrong place. See?" She reached for one with its eyes both on one side of its head.

And now she was on the brink of saving and adopting a small nation's population worth of marshmallow chicks and rabbits.

Libby, don't make her eat them all herself!

"...but," she added, a little thoughtful, "the Bible says God put the animals on Earth for us to eat from, and I guess you could say the same for marshmallow animals, too..."

They even came with nutritional information labels.
"And trying the different flavors ought to be interesting, at least. I'm terribly curious about Mike and Ike! And Dr. Pepper. I wonder if it's spicy?"

"They're definitely hard to miss. Maybe that's the point."

For science!

She shook her head.
"Right. Marketing strategy, which appears to be working on you."
Harsh, Beta.

At least she hadn't paid for the candy?

She sighed and took another tiny nibble of marshmallow bunny ear. "This place still makes no sense, but in a mostly harmless way."
