Yawning, Jubilee shuffles into the common room holding a bag of popcorn and a gigantic bottle of root beer like a pair of beloved teddy bears. Her hair is sticking up funny, and she's wearing a pair of flannel PJs with rubber chickens on them and purple bunny slippers.

She rubs sleepily at her eyes, even though her inability to go to bed is what's led to her being here, and flops down on one of the couches. She sprawls out on the couch, grabbing the remote for the TV. Stuffing a handful of popcorn into her mouth, she flips on the TV, only to turn it on in the middle of a nature special on elephants ... currently, their mating habits.

"... EW."

EDIT: And now we're watching Press Your Luck. Yay for bad '70s game shows!

Veronica's about to plaster on a smile and say everything is fine, when she remembers that Piper is in her Starting a Small Business class.

"Well, its," she hesitates. "Were you in Small Business on Thursday?"

Yeah. I could tell you were upset. Is everything okay? You so don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

Veronica grimaces slightly, then decides that since she hasn't been able to talk to anyone about this but Logan, she may as well confide in someone.

She scoots a little closer to Piper and lowers her voice.

"That girl I was talking to? Was my best friend at my old school. The thing is... she was murdered almost two years ago. She's dead, but is enrolled here. I mean, I knew there were weird things at this school, but running into my dead best friend was the last thing I was expecting."

Veronica watches for Piper's reaction, hoping the other girl won't think she's crazy.

It does sound crazy, but, I believe you. Weird stuff happens all the time at this school.

I can imagine it must have freaked you out a bit...

Veronica relaxes as soon as she realizes that Piper is not going to call the men in white coats (or, more likely in this place, gremlins or a tentacle monster) to take her away.

"Yeah, I didn't handle it well, at all. See," she falters again, "I solved her murder last year and almost ended up getting killed in the process. But the really bad thing is that I hooked up with her boyfriend and I'm pretty sure she knows."

Wow, you solved her murder? That's pretty amazing. Seems like you've been through so much.

About hooking up with her boyfriend? Maybe she won't hold it against you. You and he were probably still grieving. It's understandable.

Maybe, in some weird way, you and your friend are being given another chance.

Piper's words have a profound effect on Veronica. Why would Lilly be mad about her and Logan getting together? Its not like he cheated on her with Veronica. In fact, Lilly was cheating on Logan with his dad when she died.

She smiles at Piper.

"Thanks, you made me feel better. I'll have to see if I can find Lilly and talk to her now that I'm a little less freaked out. And maybe you're right about us being given a second chance."

I'm glad I could help. You'll have to introduce me to Lilly sometime. She sounds like a fascinating person.

Veronica is tired of talking about her drama.

"Who's your partner for that class? And do you guys know what you're doing? I'm working with Vala and we have a vague idea."

My partner is my roommate, Paige. We're going to start a catering service, I think. She came up with the name 2 Ps in a Pod. I think it's cute.
