In the 2nd floor common room...

River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

Alanna blushes. "Wow, I'm good. First person I approach is most definetly out. I suck at this campaign thing. And you think so? I had the worst time making it."

Angela blushes in sympathy. "You do not suck, it's just random bad luck. And yeah, I really like the sticker."

She hands it back to Alanna.

"Are you on a ticket, or just running on your own?"

"On a ticket with Rory, Lisa, and Elizabeth. At least, last I checked." Alanna tucks the majority of the stickers back into her bag, keeping a sheet to hand out to people.

"So, um, ever see any of these movies?"

Angela nods. "Yeah. When I was growing up, you couldn't go to a slumber party without watching them. I think I've seen 16 Candles alone at least, like, 20 times."

"What about you?"

Alanna chuckles. "I didn't know what a TV was until about a week ago."

Angela looks at Alanna, interested. "No TV? When -- and, um , where -- are you from? I just found out Page Matthews' friend Geoff is from the 1300s."

"I'm from a different world, really. We have large amounts of magic and not much electricity."

Angela nods. "I'm from this world -- more or less -- about 10 years ago. We had lots of electricity and not much magic."

Alanna nods. "So I've been reading. Time lines make my head hurt. There's just so many of them here!"

"I know, it's insane. I'm almost afraid to ask all the people who are from more or less my earth what year they were supposed to graduate, because I don't think I'm the only one who's a little misplaced."

Trying to shrg this off, Angela turns her attention to the food table. "I think I'm going to get some pop. Do you want anything?"

"No thank you, I think I've had my fill of sugar for the day. And I think there's more people who are misplaced then those who are not."

Angela nods amiably as she stands. "I think you're right."

She gets herself a soda and some cookies and returns to her seat next to Alanna.

"So what do you think of the movie so far?"
