In the 2nd floor common room...

River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

Alanna hands over another sticker. "Well, Rover can't be every where at once. My goals are more to make sure that we are safe in the dorms and in our own rooms. I'd like to see if we can get some patrols set up, either by the students or the teachers. And I want students to have someone to go to when they're in trouble and a teacher just won't do."

Duce smiles and takes the second sticker, "Thanks." She listens to Alanna's plans and nods along, "Yeah, that'd be a good idea, especially with the curfew. Maybe, if there were patrols, the curfew wouldn't be necessary anymore." She shrugs, "It was one reason we chose not to live in the dorms. Can't stand curfews. We like to walk around at night."

Alanna nods. "Also the patrols would give students a bit of practice for situations such as the one last weekend. That's another thing I'd like to work, an emergency system for when there's a well, emergency."

Oz has just been sitting, listening.

He leans forward. "Hey, uh, Alanna? Can I...use you for the paper I have to write for Journalism about the elections?"

"Sure, is your leg feeling better, by the way?" Alanna tries to smile through the throbbing cheek. Okay next time, healing as soon as it hurts.

"It's good, yeah." Oz nods. "Thanks...for that." Heflashes a smile.

"I'll have to interview you. Later. Not here. This is fun night."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2005-09-28 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna smiles. "Good to know that I helped. And just leave a message on my, um, phone thingy."

Duce smiles, "Sounds like you have a good platform. It's certainly more well thought out than the other popularity posters we've been seeing. Sure, we'll vote for you."

and the fact that you did something nice for Oz has /NOTHING/ to do with it. Honest.

Alanna smiles. "Thanks! Um, would you like more stickers to hand out to people?"

[identity profile] medusae-x.livejournal.com 2005-09-28 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Duce returns the smile, "Sure. That'd be great. We can randomly vandalize victims of fashion with them."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2005-09-28 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna laughs and hands her two sheets. "Go crazy! Just, well, not too crazy. No sticking them on Principals head or anything like that."

Duce takes them and comments, "Cool. Will do. Thanks again." It's not as though she's shutting you down, but River's comment a moment ago caused her to start concentrating on something really hard, and she's.. not really there at the moment.

"Will do. Thanks." Oz gives her a little smile.
