In the 2nd floor common room...

River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

"Ooh, thanks!" Alanna sips her cup carefully. "So, um, how's your campaign going?"

Marty shrugs.

"Not entirely sure. I've got some radio spots going and some posters up, some of which were vandalized today but I haven't done any real polls. I know I have at least maybe two votes. Number 6 and I are talking about working together as kind of our own ticket like you are doing with your group. Who knows how that's going to work."

Marty takes a sip of his coffee.

"How about you? You didn't get that bruise from campaigning did you?"

"Nah, sheer bad luck on that one. I need to start working on the posters."

"Are you going to be doing any radio commericals? Barbossa's taking them you know."

"Yeah, I will. When's the election again? Did they ever announce a date?"

"I think they did. For some reason I think it is after parents weekend, but I could be wrong."
