River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

"Who, Lily? Or Chiana?" River cocks her head, looking at him. "They both have good stuff, and look like they'd taste good. I mean, if you tasted them. I mean --" She breaks off, blushing furiously, and pours herself another glass of Mudder's Milk.

"Mmmmm. No. Nope. Don't think so." River smiles, then slips free of his grasp, teasingly running her hand down the length of his back. "I'd remember. Except study hall, maybe?"

" 'Fraid so, lovely. And my date has a girl's name, just like you!" She gives Jayne a sloppy grin, cheeks flushed from drink. "Doeszin mean we can't mess around sometime. But righ' now, I gotta make sure everyone else is having a good time too. 'Kay?"

She tilts her head, smiles the smile of the pleasantly inebriated, waves, and wanders off to chat with Lilly Kane.
