In the 2nd floor common room...

River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

River wanders back from her conversation with Duce and Oz, with a contented (and possibly slightly inebriated) smile on her face. She nibbles at her lip, then gently taps Lilly on the shoulder. "So what's in that bag of yours? I've been trying Jayne's Mudder's Milk all night, and I'm looking for some variation."

Lilly grinned, and took the quarter empty bottle out of the bag. "Bacardi. It's very, very good. Here," she said, offering the bottle. "Help yourself."

"Mmmmm." River pours herself a generous dollop, then sips experimentally. "Oooh! I like it." She grins happily at Lilly, then asks, "So how is it that we've never crossed paths before now?"

Lilly shrugged. "I'm pretty sure I've seen you around. My name's Lilly." She took back the bottle, and took a swig. "I forgot a glass." she giggled.

"I'm River," she tells Lilly, as she takes a seat beside her and takes a gulp from the glass. "And that's OK. I don' think we're dwellin' on rigid rules of conduct."

She cocks her head at Lilly, then smiles contentedly. "I don't know why, but... I'm comfortable around you." She gently nudges her arm up against Lilly's, letting the contact linger.

Lilly raised her eyebrows. "Really?" she said, getting a grin. "I'm glad you feel that way." She leaned a little closer to River.

River grins impishly back at her. "Yeah. Very." She lets her eyes wander over Lilly, then brings her gaze back to meet Lilly's again and finishes her glass. "Of course... if you'd like, when we finish with these drinks, we could go somewhere and get more comfortable. If you'd like."

She licks her lips, savoring the taste of the Bacardi.

Lilly takes another swig and grins. "I think that sounds like an awesome plan," she says, staring at River's lips.

River leans in, takes Lilly's hand in hers, and pours herself another shot of Bacardi while whispering conspiratorily. "So which of us lives closer...? I'm just down the hall in 217..."

"You're closer, then. I'm off campus," she said as she took another hit from the bottle. "That's a very convenient room to have. So close..." Lilly trailed off, and took another drink.
