406: Post-JA meeting

After the JA meeting Angelus went back to his room. He shrugged off his coat, unbuttoned a few more buttons from the top of his shirt, then settled down on his bed to get comfortable.

His notebook was in his lap. He wrote in it, frowning intently. After a while he sat up, leaned over to rummage in a desk drawer, and pulled out a pair of glasses.

He flicked the glasses open, put them on, then sat back against his pillows to resume working.

His frown turned into a smile, as though change of accessories had in any way made a difference to his efforts.

The door was closed, but obviously his roommate or, alternatively, someone Angelus gave a rat's ass about could interrupt him.

Xander heard the low hum of voices as he approached his dorm room door, and winced; he'd been pretty lucky so far about avoiding Angelus most evenings. He considered turning around and heading for the computer lab; there was always the joy of Googling for ~~naked people~~ the stats on vamp population in this dimension.

Screw it; it was his room too, and even if he did take right off again he at least wanted to dump his books off. He opened the door and walked in.

Something - maybe a book, by the sound of it, and certainly the prissy fanged un-wonder would never do anything like use one of his fancy-pants shoes - thudded against the door and slammed it shut.

Logan laughed. "At least I don't have to share a room with anyone. Freak-boy's got his own space."

"Oh, nice," Xander ~~whined~~ bitched. "My room too, asshole." He turned the knob again, and stuck his foot in as soon as the door opened - though not his head. "Incoming. And I mean me, not whatever you're planning to throw at my head and don't think I'm above whining to Connor if you give me a concussion. In fact, please do; it'd do wonders for my room reassignment request."

"You are never here when I'm here," Angelus said. "I like that arrangement. It makes me happy. Shoo. Be elsewhere. Traffic suggests itself as a location."

"Oh, hey," Logan said, surprised. "That's your roommate?" he asked Angelus.

That's my roommate, hate him or stake him," Xander said to Logan, ignoring said roommate. "Were we supposed to meet about ~~sucking up to~~ going after those teacher endorsements? Totally slipped my mind, if we were."

"Still in my airspace, Harris," Angelus observed. To Logan he said, "What do you need endorsements for?"

"The project," Logan said, giving his notebook a tap. To Xander he said, "Nope, I'm here on an information-gathering mission." He nodded at Angelus.

"Not like you need the air,.....person with no last name to call you by in a derisive tone," Xander said, glancing over at Angelus. To Logan he said, "Him? Not like you can really trust any of them to give you the straight truth, but boy did you pick the poster boy for... not putting on posters about trusting vampires."

"You got the double negatives wrong," Angelus told Xander. Not because Xander had, but because he knew it would make Xander wonder if he'd used double negatives at all, let alone correctly. To Logan he said, "Posters? Where were you during the leather portion of the JA meeting?"

"There was a leather portion of the JA meeting?" Logan asked, interested.

Xander couldn't quite manage to look uninterested himself. "Did this leather involve Faith in any way?"

"Callisto had an idea for a fashion show," Angelus said. "We're thinking second week of November."

"Is it an evil fashion show?" Logan asked with a smile.

"It involves leather; of course it's evil," Xander answered. "Or maybe that's just the Sunnydale in me talking."

"Well... Callisto," Angelus pointed out. "She's not evil really, just ~~oh so hot zomg!~~... unique."

"Anything that encourages the women of this school to wear more leather gets my support," Logan grinned.

"I...find myself almost willing to agree with that statement despite the fact that it in some way implies I'm pleased by anything he's involved in." Xander jerks his head towards Angelus. "This may require some thought. Or beer."

"Imagine my horror at thinking I might have done something to make you happy," Angelus replied. "It's almost enough to make me want to douse myself with Holy Water. About the only thing stopping me is the irony."

Logan wiped a mock tear from his eye. "Women in leather, uniting all men."

"It's almost enough to make me want to douse him in Holy Water," Xander said disgustedly. "Luckily for him, irony might not hold me back, but the thought of what Connor or Spider would do does."
