In what he has now mentally deemed "The Tick Chair" in the dorm lobby, The Tick sits. He is wearing a very snazzy hat made of Peeps. He's likely to offer a Peep to any parent who makes his acquaintance. His cowl is impeccably clean, so nobody should worry about eating a marshmallow that had just been on his head.

Callisto wanders into the lobby and she doesn't look like she's looking for someplace to hide no sir. "Evening, Professor Tick."

"Hello, Callisto!" Tick picked a duck off his hat. "Peep?"

"Thanks." Callisto takes the squishy marshmallow duck and looks at it thoughtfully. "Uh, Professor Tick, can I ask you something?"

"If you should happen to run into my sponsor over the weekend, do you think you could, maybe, not mention the whole Professor Beeblebrox thing?"

"Not a problem! If I had a zipper on my lips, I would zip them up to indicate that you can trust me! I don't, though, so you'll just have to believe me when I tell you that your sponsor will hear nothing about heroism or Professor Beeblebrox from me!"

Kawalsky wanted to avoid the hustle and bustle of going to meet General Hammond and Teal'c with the rest of the Refugees, so he wandered around. Then he saw The Tick. "Hey Professor The Tick." He sat down on the floor beside The Tick Chair.

"Hello, Major K! How is Justice in your region tonight?"

Tick pulled a bunny off his hat. "Peep?"

Kawalsky accepted the Peep. "Thanks. Justice is good. Crime is the Behaviorally Conditioned Rat in the Maze of Fandom High and the Electrodes of Justice are keeping it in check." He ate the Peep. "So yeah, business is good."

"Well done, Major! What can I do for you tonight?"

"Nothing really. Can I hang out here a while? I'm kinda avoiding the Parents check-in area."

"Well, sure thing! A team-up in sitting around is still a team-up!"

Tick picked a duckie from his hat and ate it. It tasted marshmallowy. He ate the duckie in such a way that suggested that if Charlie wanted to tell him why he was avoiding the check-in area, he'd listen, but if Charlie wanted to avoid the subject, that was fine. Tick had a very large chin. It could suggest such a thing in five languages.

Just to make sure the point wasn't lost, though, Tick asked, "Is there a reason you're avoiding the check-in?"

"No, not really. Well, yes actually. The other 'kids' from Colorado are closer to the folks coming in for them. I know the two guys coming in, but I'm not really 'family'. So I'll catch up with them later. Can I ask you a question?"

"That's understandable. And you'll get to hang out with the visitors later on anyway!"

"If you take up the role of The Questioner, I would gladly play The Answer-Man!"

"Why are you wearing a marshmallow hat?"

"A very good question. The hat serves three purposes. First, it keeps my head warm. Second, it provides sugar-based energy that I might need at a moment's notice. And third," Tick leaned in slightly and "whispered," meaning that he could probably only be heard from 20 feet away, "just in case there are parents who'd be freaked out by my antennae. I thought ahead! And this tie will lure them into a belief that I look just like a normal person and not a superhero!"

"That's a really good disguise, Professor. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you're a superhero. You're just a regular, blue-suited, marshmallow-hat wearing Criminal Justice teacher." He winked and nodded knowingly.

"Thank you, Major! I'll probably see my student's parents out cognito tomorrow. They're so into Justice that their parents can probably deal with a real superhero being around!"

"Cool. I'm sure they'll warm up to you right away. You're a kinder, gentler superhero."

"Another reason not to wear the hat tomorrow! If they warm up to me too much, the Peeps might explode from the raised temperature!"

"Marshmallows can explode without C4?"

"Well, heat makes them expand, so if there's enough heat..." As Tick began the next part, he lept up and threw his arms out wide, "KASPLOOSH!"

"That sounds messy. Probably good not to wear the hat when the parents get all warm towards you. It could be hard to clean up."

"The last impression I want to make on the parents is that of marshmallow goop in their eyes!"

"And then they'd have to spend the weekend in the clinic. That wouldn't be very fair if they came all this way to visit."

"It would give them a nice tour of the facilities, though. And they'd get to meet Dr. House!" Tick said, as if that's something for the parents to look forward to. "But I'd rather not be the guy to give them the tickets for that tour."

"This is Fandom High, Professor. I'm sure some of the parents will end up in the clinic without our help."

"Well, of course, chum. I just don't want it to happen in my classroom!"

"The classroom should be a marshmallow-free zone," Kawalsky nodded.

"I might keep it in a fridge, just in case anyone needs some marshmallowy goodness, but It definitely wouldn't work as headgear. Unless my sidekick's crazed grandmother comes after me. I hear she's scary. I'll take all the body armor I can then, even the cute and fluffy kind!]

"Well, so are you, Major K! I hear she eats babies. Or was it that she destroys lives slowly but surely over many years before finally breaking you in a truly grand fashion? I can never keep track of who slowly breaks you and who eats babies. I should write that kind of thing down.
