Parents Reception: Brunch

A long buffet table has been put together, again with food ranging from the simple to the strange and exotic.

Multiple tables with elegant tablecloths and cutlery have been laid out.

A Juice and Smoothee bar is also available.

Aeryn's not even sure if she's supposed to be here, but John was up to do work for class and she had nothing better to do. And she would want to meet Murray if she knew anything about him.

"Hi," she says. "Do you mind?"

John overhears this last bit as he sneaks up behind Aeryn.

"And I'm very glad for that," he says with a smile. Jack is trailing close behind.

Aeryn's eyes go wide for a second, but she smiles when she turns around. "Good morning."

"Good morning." He leans closer and whispers, "Sorry about leaving so early. Figured I'd get the school stuff out of the way as quickly as possible."

Jack doesn't let John answer. Instead, he sweeps in front of John and smiles at Aeryn. "Hello Aeryn. How are you and the sea monkeys this morning?"

"They're looking about the same as yesterday," she says, glad he doesn't seem like he hates her yet. "How was the hotel?"

When Jack trails in behind John, he immediately notices Janet and can't help smiling.

"It's nice to see you again, Janet," he says politely.

Janet smiles at John's dad. "Good morning, Mr. Crichton," she says. "How's the hotel?"

"Good enough. I'll manage. And how was your night?"

"It's a new hotel; I'm sure they haven't worked all the quirks out yet." She takes another bite of her bagel and chews for a moment, then swallows before answering. "Quiet, thankfully. I went to sleep when I got back. I was a little too tired to study."

Sam returns from the buffet table with two cups of coffee and hands the extra one to Janet. "Here. I hope I fixed it the way you like it."

Janet smiled up at Sam. "Thanks," she said, taking a sip. "Yep, absolutely perfect."
