JA Bake Sale

Anakin sat behind a table groaning under the weight of totally innocent--really, would the JA steer you wrong?--baked goods.

Hanging from the table was a sign:

JA BAKE SALE: ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO SOME SORT OF CHARITY AS FAR AS YOU KNOW

Donations from JA members:
Chocolate chip walnut cookies made by Faith
Brownies made by Draco (and Lily)
Tatooine sand cookies made by Anakin (no actually sand included)
Chocolate chip cookies made by Lindsey
Rice Krispie treats made by Jonathan

Donations from non-JA members:
Snickerdoodles made by Veronica Mars, Piper, Shep and Lisa Cuddy

Angelus came by, looking rushed. He stopped in front of the table as though gobsmacked by how wonderful it was. "Anakin! And some people at this school say you can't be trusted to do a job right. What in the hell are they talking about? This is perfect!"

"Who says I can't be trusted to do a job right?" Anakin asked, his brow creasing. "And thank you, I guess."

He gestured down at the table. "I know this isn't your normal food, but I've been told by Draco that the brownies are to die for."

"As soon as someone comes to spare me, I'll be swinging by the JA meeting with Obi-Wan. I'm anxious for you two to meet each other." His hand waved out to encompas the students and parents milling around in the cafeteria. "He's around here somewhere."

After breakfast, Anya and D'Hoffryn stop by to mingle and eye the bake goods.

She really tried to protest, not wanting a run into between her ex boss and the vamps, but you know those crazy demons and their sweet tooths! D'Hoffryn insisted on taking a peek at what the JA was all about.

Anakin nodded politely at Anya and her guest, surreptiously looking at a notebook full of student names.

"Hello," he said. "Anything in particular catch your fancy? I've been hearing great things about the addictiveness of Faith's chocolate chip cookies, in particular."

Well, well, well... A good old High School Bake Sale. Now, I'm not one for the sweets, usually, but I might make an exception this time... assuming I might be able to get a bit of information along with the confection. *smiles*

Anakin sat up straight in his chair. "Of course, sir. We members of the Junior Achievers would be happy to assist any of our visitors." He gestured to the sweets in front of him. "Might I suggest a Rice Krispie treat? They seem to be something of a local delicacy around here and the club member who made them was very proud of his secret recipe."

Marty Freaks Out!

After a disturbance in his dorm room (http://www.livejournal.com/users/oatmanspatient/12266.html) Marty runs into the room with a crazed expression on his face.

Well what you can see of it. He's wearing a gas mask on his face, a sock and boxers with little aliens on them. In one hand he clutches what appears to be the clubbed remains of a gremlin and in the other is a cricket bat.

Marty runs into the middle of the room and spies the table of baked goods.

He thrusts his arms into the air and screams

"THE SNICKERDOODLES ARE MADE OUT OF PEOPLE!!!! PEEEEEOOOOPLE!"

Anakin stared. And stared.

"They're really not," he hastened to assure the beings around the table.

He left the bake sale for a moment, and approached Marty. "Marty, what the hell is your problem?" he hissed.

"She has. I understand you took her to Homecoming." Emily put a hand on her hip. "So, Logan, tell me about yourself."

Taking a short break from the Club Fair, Chloe walks around, following the undeniable scent of baked goods. She reaches the table at smiles at Beka, looking everything over. "Wow, you guys certainly got a good turnout. I wondered what Veronica was baking for."

Beka sat watching the table of baked goods, chatting pleasantly with whomever came by and encouraging them to buy. At some point during the afternoon, she commed Illyana to make sure she was all right and promised to check in with her later.

[I really had planned on having Linds show up today to play at the bake sale. I went out for a couple hours (so I thought) and ended up being gone 11 AM to midnight, pretty much. Sorry! And now I go collapse into my bed. ahhh, bed.]
