Monday Afternoon at the Firing Range

Beka should be writing her gossip column. She should be finishing up her Ethics assignment with Buffy. She should be telling Phoebe how sorry she is about the kiss. She should be telling Angelus that she hates him for what he did to Bel.

There are a lot of things she should be doing. But most of them require thinking about things she doesn't want to think about.

After yesterday, being trapped between Raynor, Elizabeth and Angelus, with a humiliated Bel who wouldn't defend himself, all she really wants is to blow things up. No time for a trip, and too many responsibilities. So it's the firing range for her.


[ooc: open post, and Beka will go to great pains not to expose her emo to anyone but her closest friends. Also, feel free to come in and shoot without interacting with Beka if it suits you. Just figured plenty of people might have PW traumas that a little shooting might not hurt. ;)]

Piper wanders into the firing range, but not to use a weapon. Not any normal weapons, at least. Now that she was going to be a target for evil, she figured she would practice using her explosive power. Better here than anywhere else. At least here she wouldn't accidentally hurt someone or blow up an innocent appliance.

She spots Beka there as well and walks over to her. "Hey Beka."

Oh hell. Did she hear the radio broadcast? Beka gave a small, somewhat tentative smile. "Hey, Piper." Distract her. "What're you doing here? Not that you aren't welcome, but I didn't figure you for the --" She gestures at the pulse pistol in her hand with her free hand. "--weapons type."

"I'm not the weapons type at all. I'm actually here to practice my explosive power. Figured it would be a good idea," Piper said somewhat nervously. She was still afraid of her own power.

Thinking of how much better off Bel would've been if he'd practiced more, Beka nodded. Thinking of her own powerlessness, she said, "Not knowing your own strength and limitations will get you killed. It's a good idea. I'd totally suggest you come try to blow me up in the gym sometime with Bel for company, but you might actually kill me for kissing him, or he might kill you for being a witch."

Piper nods. "Or it could get someone else killed. I don't want to be responsible for accidentally blowing up a classmate. I'd only try to kill you if you deserved it. You're safe now because you were only trying to protect my sister."

"I can think of one or two I could get behind you blowing up. But yeah, I know what you mean. Exactly. Protect Phoebe. And Belthazor. Besides. It was a terrible kiss. Really."

"Oh, believe me, there's a few I'm tempted to blow up, but I have to be good. Oh yeah, it must have been just awful for you."

"Remind me to stay on your good side. It was! All that hair pulling and growling and... It was awful." Her eyes grew faintly wider, and she busied herself with checking out her pulse pistol, which was totally fine since she'd been firing it when Piper walked in.
