4th Floor Common Room

Following Dr. Wilson's advice, Shep is laying on a couch in the common room with a warm washcloth over his face. There are mostly full packages of Aleve and Sudafed and half a bottle of orange juice on the nearby table.

The t.v. is set to Jeopardy! since you don't actually need to *see* it to know what's going on and Shep can be heard muttering about 3/4 of the answers from behind his navy blue washcloth.

"What is... the bright idea of bringing kittens to study hall? They're fucking adorable, but there are some of us who kind of... you know like to breathe. And I wasn't doing too well with that before the terrible tabby trio took hold of me."

[come poke. He's sick, but friendly]

"Oh absolutely! Professor Dream for one, and Red... I wouldn't have come up with them. You know, the weird thing is how safe I feel here, even with everything that's gone on. I'm not sure that doesn't mean I've gone completely over the edge, though," she laughs.

"Hey, don't get me wrong, I know it's dangerous here. But this is a place where people know that anything can happen (and often does!) so if you tell them something weird happens they take you seriously. Back home if you try and warn someone, oh say, not to shake hands with someone because then they can control all of your actions indefinitely... they think you're crazy and ignore the danger."

"Sounds like you're a good person to have around. For some reason I often seemed to be the one that the strange stuff happened to - not that that seems to have changed a whole lot here," she said wryly. "Back home everyone pretty much went to my friend, Clark. For some reason he was always willing to believe what you had to say - or at least keep an open mind about it."

"Clark, well... I'd love it if he did, but so far he seems pretty determined to stay in Smallville." Lana pauses. "You know, you're supposed to be a high school sophomore, but you don't seem like you could actually *be* a high school sophomore and have done all of these things that you talk about. And my gut says that you're not putting me on, so... Care to share?"

"He sounds like a rather, um... *unique* sort of guy. I don't think I've run into him yet. Or let me say, I'm pretty sure I'd remember if I'd run into him."

Lana laughs. "You're right, I definitely would have remembered him if I'd met him. Something to look forward to I guess. Hey, thanks for letting me hang out here tonight. I... I really appreciate it. It was good to get out of my room and all the drama, you know?

But I better head up to bed now or I'm likely to fall asleep right here. Maybe I'll catch you another time?"

[OOC: Mun is ready to drop, but it's been so much fun playing I didn't want to leave!]

"Oh, you just *had* to remind me, didn't you! I swear, your phone will be ringing if you're not careful." Lana collects her un-opened-for-the-entire-evening stack of work and heads back to her room, still grinning.
