The Dorm Roof, Friday Afternoon
Cally, with the intrepid and very necessary help of Anders, has hauled up some welding equipment to the dorm roof.
Today the Viper frame is to be re-fabricated. So, with the help of Anders (who is holding the big pieces in place, as that is probably the extent to which his skills run), Cally sets about this arduous work.
[ooc: Feel free to interrupt them.]

He's not at all distracted by thoughts of the fact that the Viper pieces are completely out of room 213, and impending officialness and stuff.
If he was, he might drop a heavy piece of frame on his foot or something.

Cally smiles as she flips up the welding mask. "Dunno. Could take a while, what with just the two of us. But we don't have to do this all day. Especially with the cold and all." She shrugs. "Besides, we gotta get ready for the Triad game, later, too."

*cough*Bridge*cough*will show up to help, huh?" He frowns and shifts one end of the piece he's holding up a micrometer or two, and grins over at Cally. "Welding mask looks good on you."Anders is very determinedly not thinking distracting thoughts, because if Cally cries, he's going to cry too, and that just can't happen.
"Anything we need for the Triad game? Foodwise, I mean? I can run out and get drinks or whatever. Snacks?"

"There, that's that bit. Now... grabs the piece over there and put it up against this one, and that should be right." She nods and gestures, smiling the whole time.

He's really not distracted by the hotness of Cally in a welding mask. Really.

Cally suddenly gets the urge to dance about in spandex, ending with a spectacular finish involving a pull chain and water."I'll set up the room. That way we can, like, be all super efficient and stuff." She looks carefully at the way Anders' is holding the piece and nods. "That's perfect. Just hold it steady, now." She flips down the mask again, and goes about properly welding that piece into place.

And Cally told him to hold it steady. So he's going to do that, damn it.

"You're doing great, champ. Wouldn't be able to do this without you." She looks at the mostly-finished frame and smiles. "Alright, almost done, actually. The hard part is gonna be the engines and the moving bits. Oh, and the control panel, yeah. Prolly gonna need to enlist Bridge in helping with that."

"So what's next?"

If the Chief can put one together from spare parts in an episode, we can put one together from the proper pieces much faster. D'uh."Well, after we get that put up, it's engine time. After that, the wings, then putting the wings on, then the cockpit, and finally the plating." She flips down the mask, before flipping it back up to add. "But that's not all for today. Might even have to cut out after the frame, since we're gonna need some block and tackle to haul the engines in place."
She flips down the mask again, and goes about welding the last bit of frame.

Yes, and I wouldn't know about any of that because I got LEFT BEHIND TO DIE ON CAPRICA and I'm NOT BITTER ABOUT IT AT ALL, NO.Anders's eyes may just have glazed over a little bit from all this. "Right. Right. Got it. Block and tackle. Engines."
He just goes back to holding the piece in place and thinking how sexy Cally looks in a jumpsuit and welding mask.

"There, should be good." Cally huffs, blowing air under her bangs. "You wanna test the frame structure and stability? I promise, it's fun."

He takes the mallet from Cally and happily wanders around the Viper frame, banging on it with abandon and quite pleased to be useful. After all, it's hitting things hard to see if they fall apart, and he's good at that sort of thing.

"Yes, because welding it oh so complicated. I coulda taught you how and let you do it, but I kinda needed your help with the lifting and the being taller." she rubs her arms up and down Anders' back. "Okay, getting a little chilly up here, now that I'm not holding a warm welding torch."

He's conveniently ignoring the fact that they already figured that part out.

Finally, after a brief, if mildly violent, conference they all climb up onto the framework. The winner of the conference sits where the pilot's seat will eventually be. The rest spread themselves out over the Viper frame wherever they can find a comfortable perch.
The 'pilot' squeaks through a 'check list' as he pretends to flip switches and tap dials. Various gremlins behind him answer as he calls out each item. When the check list is finished the 'pilot' 'starts the engine'. He then begins making plane noises and all the gremlins lean in unison as the the 'pilot' 'flies' them about.
