Common room 2nd floor, evening

Needing a break from psychology homework, Cameron is in the common room on the 2nd floor. After his conversation with Rory, he's definitely feeling better about the whole thing and it's given him inspiration. He's trying to make chocolate cake. Only, there's more of the ingredients spread out on his shirt and in his hair than there is actually in the bowls in front of him.

He's not about to give up, though. Even if it kills him. Which might actually be possible as the eggs aren't looking so happy with the treatment they're getting.

Wandering around her new floor and getting her bearings, Sam stopped in the doorway and observed the scene for a few minutes. "I'd offer to help, but you've seen me in action. What'cha making?"

"Chocolate cake," Cameron grins, he's got cocoa powder on his cheek. "I've decided I'm becoming the 2nd floors chocolate cake provider."

"As a new resident on the second floor, that's a plan I can totally get behind," Sam grinned back. "You've...got some cocoa on your cheek, if you care."

"Oh right, thanks." Cameron reaches up and scratches his cheek, getting flour on it too. "Okay, I think I got to now do this..." He's concentrating hard on the bowls in front of him, trying to get things right. "I swear this looks easier when my mom does it."

Angela wanders downstairs and sees Sam and Cameron talking. "Oh, baking? Wnat are you making?"

"Yo," Cameron grins. "Chocolate cake. I hope."

"Hey, Angela," Sam said. "I'm just here for moral support."

"I was kinda more thinking you could be guinea pig and try to taste the dough," Cameron smirks.

Vala wanders in, looking amused.

If anyone's going to be killing my boyfriend, I think I should be involved...

"Hey, Vala," Sam waved, then handed her the teaspoon full of cake batter. "Try this. Cameron made it."

"Is that supposed to give me confidence?"

"Hey, baby." Cameron grins and licks his spoon clean.

"Wow," she looks him over. "Is the chocolate for the cooking or for your personal decoration?" she asks, running a finger through a bit of splashed batter on his arm and tasting it.

The hamster has been resting comfortably under the couch, but has decided that she was bored--if a hamster can get bored. Investigating, she stuck her nose out from under the couch and eyed the assembled revelers.

Cameron wonders if he just saw something move under the couch.

"Ewww!" Vala scowled. "First gremlins, now mice?" This place has some serious pest control issues!"

"I need cake for a mover," Parker says, entering in, then re-thinking that, qualifies it with, "Actually, several. Got any left? It smells great."

"It's still in the oven," Cameron replies from where he is lying on the ground.

Parker cocks her head and looks down at him, and laughs. "Okay. Why are you on the floor?"

Cameron sulks.

The timer dinged, and Sam pulled the cake out of the oven, trying not to burn herself or anyone else. "I guess I should just put this on the counter, huh?"

Taking Cam by his good hand, Vala hauls him out of the room, trying to convince him to go to the clinic.

"Who knows what you caught from that dirty little thing."

"Oh, come on! I'll wash it and put a band-aid on it and it will be fine."

*sigh* "Fine, but if you're purple or glowing or sick as a dog in the morning, I'm hauling your ass to the clinic first thing. And don't think I won't!"

Their voices fade as they move down the hall....

Logan wandered into the common room with Vladdie. The dog flew in circles around him, licking Logan's cheek as he flew past. Logan tried to untangle the leash from his arms and finally dropped it. "Come on, pup, can't you calm down for five minutes?" He grabbed for Vladdie, but the dog grinned, dodged and flew off.

"Great," Logan sighed, and followed.

Still bored and antsy for some reason, Belthazor had been wandering the halls of the dorm for awhile. He passed by the big moving party, idly wondering why Rory wasn't moving in with her boyfriend instead of with Parker, then wandered into the second floor common room.

Vladdie flew over to Bel and barked cheerfully at the new person, wagging his tail frantically.

"There you are, you little demon," Logan said, snatching up the leash. His face darkened when he saw Bel standing in front of him.
