Marty is watching TV again. For some reason there isn't one episode of Criminal Justice (or any of its spin-offs), so he decides to watch a rerun of the Gelmoore Gals.

It's the Episode where Duke and Lorraine have UST and Lorraine's daughter Rainey is torn between her boyfriend Gene and Duke's nephew Joss.

Angela flops down beside her boyfriend, planting a kiss on his neck. "Hey. What's up?"

Marty gives Angela smile and puts his arm around her shoulder. "Oh the usual. Achey ribs. Achey wrist. Broke my cell phone yesterday. Worked at Phales. Blah blah blah. What about you?"

His tone is light and humourous.

"Oh, god, nothing," Angela says. "I think I made it to journalism. We looked at bunny cartoons. The rest of it was just..." she shrugs. "Stuff. Not interesting."

"I hate that you're still hurty," she says, in a voice that is a little cutesy but clearly concerned.

Marty starts playing with her hair a little bit. "Dr. Wilson says it'll probably be another three to four weeks for my ribs to fully heal. As long as I don't strain myself."

He then gives her a strange look. "Bunny Cartoons? Has Spider lost it?"

"Oh, like THAT wasn't a given long ago," Angela scoffs. "But they were cute cartoons, anyhow."

"And .... I'll have to make sure you don't. Strain yourself."

Marty chuckles. "True. Any guy who has a cat like that must be needing some kind of anti-psychotic medication."

"So you're going to protect me from straining myself? How do you plan on doing that?" Marty says with a grin.

"Don't ask about his medication," Angela says. "I kind of think there's a lot of it." She shrugs, tossing the remote from hand to hand. "But he's not a bad teacher. Just weird, like everything else here."

"And ... I can think of a few ways we could keep you from straining yourself. But, um, let's discuss them when Alanna isn't here."

Marty smiled and looked under the couch.

"Hush you!"

Marty gives Angela a sly grin and a quick smooch.

"So nothing interesting happened today? That's almost odd for this school. Though there were some weird noises coming from the PA system earlier today."

"You mean that screechy thing? I thought somebody accidentally turned the mike on while they were cleaning the PA, or something."

Angela thinks. "There's a hamster loose. I've sene it twice now. Does that count as unusual?"

"A hamster? I don't think so. Though I don't remember anyone around here having a hamster... then again I don't know everyone. I did hear a lot of barking coming from one of the dorm rooms today. Did someone get a dog?"

Angela thinks about it. "I dunno. Maybe. I heard the barking too."

She shrugs. "This place is turning into a petting zoo -- no offense, Faithful."

Suddenly images of being chased by paperboys screaming "Two Dollars" enters Marty's head.

"You're not about to become intensely curious again, are you?"

"That would require energy," Angela points out. "Much nicer to be sedated by the TV right now."

"Besides, I haven't seen any marmosets on campus. Yet."

Marty snickers. "Yessss.... TV is our friend," Marty says in a somewhat comical zombie sounding voice.

He then laughs at the show as Duke yells at Dirk for being so annoying.

"This show is so silly."

"It is," Angela says. "Cute, though. I love how Lorraine and Rainey live on Doritos and ice cream and are waaay skinny."

Marty looks over at Alanna who appears to be engrossed in her laptop and then whispers in Angela's ear.

"Um... you interested in showing me how not to strain myself? *cough* Like in my room?"

"My room is bigger now Sydney's gone," Angela points out with a wicked smile. "But yeah, I can .... demonstrate."

She takes Marty by one hand and leads him out of the common room.

Alanna came in, cat on shoulder and a new shinny laptop in her hand. Also, rather puzzled.

"Hi Alanna, Faithful," Angela says.. "Everything okay?"

"New laptop Alanna?"

"Yup and yup." Alanna lightly poked at a button. "Um...hopefully this will work." Faithful decided to help her by putting his paw down on the keyboard, then jumping on Angela's lap. Alanna looked ready to hit something. "So, um, how have you been?"

Marty shrugs.

"Pretty good. I'm thinking now that getting out of Student Council was a good thing. Sorry you got stuck with the entire job. Having problems?" Marty gestures to the laptop.

Alanna scoweled at the thing. "I thought it would be easier, not having to be tied to my desk. Figured it would be the same as the one on the desk. But nooooo. I just want to send one lousy email, is that so much to ask for?" The entire speech was addressed to her laptop. She lets out a long breath and looks up at Marty. "S'okay, it's not that bad. Yet."

Marty thinks it over for a few minutes. "Maybe you should ask that Broots guy for help. He seems to know a thing or two about computers."

Faithful jumped off of Angela's lap and under the couch. Alanna kept poking at the laptop a bit more. "Broots? I think I've seen him around, Miss Parker's squire like person, right?"

"You met him Zombie weekend," Angela chimes in. "Oh, you could get Bridge Carson to do it! He made Rory's laptop make waffles."

"That guy!" Alanna has a vague idea of who is being discussed. "And um, waffles? Are laptops supposed to make waffles?"

Angela shrugs. "I don't think so. But, hey, waffles. They're yummy."

Alanna looked at her laptop, then at Angela, back at her laptop, back at Angela, laptop, Angela. "Um...I think I'll continue eating food made by objects that I am not trying to use as a study device. How have you been?"

"Suit yourself," Angela says, chuckling a little under her words. "And me? I'm okay. I helped Cameron make a chocolate cake yesterday. That was about it. You?"

"Chocolate, yum." Alanna hesitently hit the enter key and smiled as the browser window finally opened. "Not much, got a few events going, pretty much it."

"I saw the poster for the self-defense seminar. How's that going?"

"Well, I got Bel as willing to help out, which makes me twitchy." She shrugged. "And then two girls signed up to show up, so, yay."
