Shep takes an Oreo, believing strongly in the healing power of junk food. "Thanks. Carter. Sam Carter. We have some history... though not as much as she apparently thinks we do."
I like the class - I like Prof. Mac. I'm just seriously considering finding out if there's a section next term with a different t.a. I can do without that stress in my life. I'd suggest the class. It's fun. My angst is totally separate from the class or the prof.
Maia nodded taking all this in. "Yeah I heard if they have ethics next semester there will be a different teacher and I am so totally going to take it if it is."
I didn't have any problems with the prof we had *this* semester. It was an *ethics* class. I have problems with the people who really didn't expect her to deal with tough issues. I'm not saying that everyone's up for that, but there was always the closet if you needed to step out and no one held a gun to anyone's head and forced them to enroll. In case you can't tell, I'm kind of annoyed the Prof. Maclay is being squeezed out. I don't think she did anything...um... unethical.
Maia shrugged "I asked the Dean if I could leave the class, that was before the class that upset everyone though. I think I would do better under a different teacher in regards to ethics, but thats just me." Maia shrugged again having not been in the class when all the trouble started with the questionable content Maia really could not say much on the subject.
"Well, sometimes this place is a little odd. Sometimes I think I expect people to act a little more like grown-ups than teenagers may warrant. But then again, sometimes I want the adults to grow up too." He shrugs. "I liked Miss Maclay, but the only time I ever really saw her was in class, so..."
Maia nodded, her jaw locked a bit setting it into a firm line. She did not discuss Tara if she could help it. "Yeah. I agree with you." Maia said thinking it was a safe answer.
Maia noticed Shep back off and she was grateful for it. Maybe sometime she would tell him everything that had happened but tonight, the night before one of her biggest finals, was so not the night to get into it. She gave Shep a smile of thanks and took a cookie.
"Hey, pass me another one of those," he asks of Maia.
"Though I gotta ask... what's with the cookie fascination around this school lately?" He'd assume cookies were a safe topic. But this was Fandom High where there were absolutely no garauntees on that score. Ever.
You tell me you're in a lesbian relationship and then tell me you have an oral fixation. Find me a red blooded American boy who doesn't go *there*, you know?
I'm partial to the ones in the gold bag... the ones that actually come from Germany. The blue bag ones just suck. Wonka's huh... I may have to stop in the next time I'm in town.
"Oh the gold bag ones are brilliant, Wonkas are just like those. I think Wonka made them first though." Maia looked thoughtful "I never had the blue bag ones before."
