Nighttime, outside the dorms

A trip into town had resulted in Sean getting everything a puppy could need to be happy, and many many things that he didn't need per se, but which were too damned cute to resist.

There had also been Christmas presents for the pooch, but those were safely hidden in the back of Angel's closet since lord knows he isn't hiding there where Sean couldn't find them.

Sean himself was currently sporting a red and green collar with, appropriately enough, a dog tag. On the tag it said "My name is SEAN. My dad's name is ANGEL."

Sean's new possessions were back in the room. In the meanwhile Angel could tell the signs of a puppy who wasn't yet ready to settle in for the night.

So they were outside, playing with a new ball, snow, and generally having more fun than you ever thought a broody vampire could have.

Behold the power of puppy.

"So... you remember everything he did." Sean brought the stick over to Logan and wagged his tail frantically. "Everything he, uh, saw." Logan tried to take the stick from Sean, but the puppy clung to it, starting a game of tug-of-war.

Angel nodded. "Whatever he did, saw, experienced, I remember. Only difference is that the people he hurt... I feel that."

"Ah." Logan finally got the stick back from Sean and wiggled it over the puppy's head. Sean barked and jumped at it. Logan pulled it out of Sean's reach and tossed it.

He stuffed his hands in his pockets and watched the dog run. "I like movies, too. Especially heist films. Not so big on the action flicks, though, except for the Hong Kong ones."

That actually got something like a smile out of Angel. "Jackie Chan?"

"Of course Jackie Chan. Also, Jet Li, Chow Yun-Fat and Stephen Chow. Hey, we should have a Hong Kong movie night at my - at your place when I get back," Logan gave Angel a small smile.

"Not as into Jet Li," Angel admitted. "But love Chow Yun-Fat. We'll have to do it in the common room. John and I don't have a TV. Hey, you ever see Legend of Drunken Master?"

"Oh yeah," Logan said. "My friend's dad back in Neptune had all the Jackie Chan stuff. Been a couple years, though. I wouldn't mind watching it again."

Angel nodded, as though making a note of that. "Um - when you getting back? Place'll probably be dead until the new semester starts. Bet nobody'd mind us taking over a common room with a movie marathon." Angel gave a slight grin. "Maybe Chinese food for this one."

"New Year's Day," Logan said. "Coming in kind of late, though. Maybe the next day?"

"Works," Angel said. "Everybody'll be sleeping off hangovers anyway."

"Yep," Logan grinned. "That's why I'm taking a late flight back. I'll give you a call, then."

"Sure," Angel said. "My, uh, number's the same. Or you can call the room phone."

Sean trotted up to him with the stick in his mouth. He sat down, tail wagging proudly.

"Or, you know," Angel motioned to the puppy, "stick a Post-it on him."

"He might eat it." Logan bent down scratched Sean behind the ears. "I'll stick to the phone. Later!" Logan shot Angel a mock salute and headed off to the dorms to try and run into Veronica to get presents for no real reason, only to discover that the common rooms were unusually empty, as if there were some heist event happening elsewhere.

Angel watched as Logan left, then scooped Sean up so he could be properly cuddled.
