Angel blinked. "... 'cause it was?"

Marty the Elf wanders over to where Cal and Angel are arguing.

"Are you two wrestling? Up at the North Pole we wrestle all the time to see who gets the best snow berries. I always win, because I'm the biggest!"

Angel looks up. And up. "Marty?"

"Marty?" Callisto suddenly realised that she was more or less straddling Angel in the middle of the common room. "This isn't what it looks like."

"You sure? Because it really looks like Marty's gone nuts."

"It looks like FUN!" Marty the Elf exclaims. "I'm all for fun! Fun is the best! Are you wrestling to see who gives each other the first gift? Because that's the only fight we have at the North Pole!"

"Uh...maybe..." Callisto looked to make sure Marty didn't have a cricket bat stashed away somewhere. "Would it be bad if we were?"

"Well you don't want Santa to find out that you've been fighting! Fighting is a no-no and could get you on the naughty list! You don't want to be on the Naughty list!" Marty the elf said with a wide eyed look of fear.

Angel looked somewhat intimidated by that. "No... no. That would be bad."

"Very bad." Looking sideways at Marty, Callisto slid off of Angel with as much dignity as she could muster. Which wasn't very much.

"You know what you should do? You should spread Christmas cheer! That'll get you off the Naughty list! And the best way to spread christmas cheer is to sing out loud for all to hear!"

Marty the Elf takes a large breath to start singing.

"Oh dear God," Angel said. He immediately looked at Callisto in accusation. "I told you that this whole thing would cause trouble!"

And Marty begins to sing:

"I'm singing! In the common Room!
Where Angel and Callisto were wrestling!
It was just for fun! Not to relieve sexual tension!"

"Fine then," Callisto threw up her hands in exasperation. "If it's that much trouble for you, I'll just tell Aeryn to forget about it."

"What?" Angel blinked at her, trying to be verbal in spite of the song. "I didn't say that!"

"And the shouting! Is just for fun!
I like shouting too! It's great to be heard from far away!"

"You didn't?" Callisto frowned in puzzlement. "You weren't taking about the date idea thingy, just then?"

"Well... yes," Angel admitted. "But no! I just - see, this is what happens! I try to be happy with somebody and then there's insane people singing at the top of their lungs! And people wonder why I don't try to socialize much!"

"Well, we won't invite Marty then," Callisto said, glancing sideways once more. "If you're that worried about being out in public, my roommates just absconded for parts unknown, we could just spend the night in or something."

"Spend the night... " Angel blinked, then blushed. Fiercely. Even he would have admitted it.

"Not like that!" Callisto flailed, then turned bright red. ""

Surely any vampire blushing this hard stood a good risk of spontaneously combusting, right?

"Um. I... you know." Angel cleared his throat. "Maybe someday if it won't kill people."

"Well, there's always, uh, movies in the common room or something." Wow, Callisto'd never noticed that about Bitterwoman's costume before. ""

"Movies or something are good," Angel said. The floor under the couch really needed to be cleaned. Boy howdy. "Not sure if that'd help or hurt with the loophole problem."

"Maybe Crichton might have some ideas, for the something," And how did she manage to fight in high heels without breaking an ankle?" "
