*Hamlet, having just gotten back from a huge New Years party with Horatio in Berlin, trudges his way up the stairs towards his room on the sixth floor. He's severely jet-lagged and still smells a little like bratwurst & cigarette smoke. He hears the commotion in the second floor common room, stops, and pokes his head in to see what's going on.*

Ah, a t-shirt and Pepparkakor. Thank you. I just to eat quite a bit of this back home.

I went to a New Years party in Berlin thrown by my classmates from my old school. My best friend sent me an invitation, and since I had not seen him for quite a while now, I decided to go. It was good to see him again, but very tiring.

Parker looks amused. "So you had the same kind of New Year's we did, I assume. We wondered where you got to. Glad you had fun, though." She held up her posters. "What do you think?"

It was fun, although it reminded me of the situation back at home. I really should get around to doing something about that.

*He looks over the posters.*

An interesting approach to encouraging voter support. Is there another election coming up?

"Situation back home?" Parker cocks an eyebrow. "Revelry reminds you of home? That's good, I suppose."

"And yes. Unfortunately. Three class reps. What class are you in, again?"

There was much toasting of drinks and lighting of fireworks on New Year's Eve. Back home, whenever someone proposed a toast, a canon was fired off. An old Danish custom which got very annoying very fast, but seemed alright at the bar. I have serious family and political issues back home, and I' not envious to face them.

Second year. That would be a 'junior', I suppose. What will these class reps do?

"Yikes. We just had a lot of zombies playing music. Much less noisy. Probably the same ambiance if you weren't drunk, though." Parker cocked her head. "If you're one year from graduation, you're a junior. And the class reps will hopefully manage dances, take suggestions for trips, things along those lines, and try to talk the administration into it." She made a face. "You haven't met our new principal yet, I'd guess. He's going to be the faculty advisor."

Oh, simple administrative positions then? I must admit that I am still a bit confused about the terms used in the American school system. The systems I'm used to in Denmark and Germany are quite a bit different.

New principal? I heard that Bristow was leaving the school, but not who would replace him. What is the new principal like?

Parker tries to think of a good description that won't get her in trouble from the eavesdropping administration. "He gave us pie after he punished us with Welcome Wagon assignments. Tall. Spare." She mouthes 'creepy' at Hamlet, and makes a face.
