Elizabeth had added her poster next to Parker's.

It was her only poster at the moment. There was no point in plastering the school with them if she decided not to run in the end.


Vote Elizabeth Weir as Junior Student Council Representative


She headed back to the corner table where she had started her jigsaw puzzle last week.

She looked distracted, and occassionally glanced across at the poster. Why was she running? Was it because she felt that she should?

"Mmm. Truffles."

Elizabeth tilted her head. "There might be. We should look online."

"We should. And then we should buy a bunch of them. Valentine's Day is coming up too, you know. If nothing else, we can leave a list somewhere conspicuous."

Elizabeth groaned. "Oh, god, Valentine's Day. Patron saint of the commercialism of holidays," she sighed, before brightening slightly. "But, yes. A good excuse for chocolate."

"And flowers," Sam added.

"Yes, but chocolate tastes better," Elizabeth grinned.

"And you can make this comparison how, because you've eaten a lot of flowers?"

"Not since I was four."

Sam grinned. "Do I want to know?"

Elizabeth laughed. "Let's just say, that was when I learnt that older brothers weren't to be trusted," she said.

"Was this before or after the poker game?"

Elizabeth covered her face. "It was before," she said. "Different brothers though. I was clearly naive enough not to tar them all with the same brush, even though they deserved it!"

"Okay, suddenly glad I only had..." she stopped, "well, you know. And you've got a good heart, even if they were boys."

Elizabeth nodded slowly. "Yeah, I know," she said, sighing.

"Okay, enough moroseness," Sam declared, fitting another two pieces together. "A bunch of us are going to IKEA later, if you want to come."

"We'll see," Elizabeth replied, as that trip has been and done. "I can't think of anything I actually need from there, and I might actually be shopped out from Chicago and other Christmas shopping too!"

"I can see that," Sam said, "but my room's looking a little institutional at the moment. I need stuff to cheer the place up, make it homey. Maybe some plants."
