Elizabeth had added her poster next to Parker's.

It was her only poster at the moment. There was no point in plastering the school with them if she decided not to run in the end.

She headed back to the corner table where she had started her jigsaw puzzle last week.

She looked distracted, and occassionally glanced across at the poster. Why was she running? Was it because she felt that she should?

"He was a General in our Air Force," Sam said, somewhat proudly. "He used to tell some of the best stories about his buddies and some of the pilots under his command."

"Your dad was a pilot?" Sam asked. "Funny how these things run in families, isn't it?"

Lee is certainly impressed. "A general? Cool! Have you ever considered following his footsteps?"

Sam blushed a little. "Yeah, I have. Air Force Academy, all that stuff. Don't know if I'll make it as far as he did, though, being female. There's still a lot of bias in our armed forces against that."

Lee frowns. "Was it you that I talked to about that, or Janet?" he asks, confused as that conversation took place a couple of months ago. "That's just ridiculous. Many of our best pilots are women and our female Battlestar commanders outnumber our male commanders."

"I'm not sure," Sam replied. "And I'm thrilled to hear that there's somewhere women are properly appreciated. Too bad I can't sign up in your dimension." She may have been pouting just a bit.

You too? "Not yet," Sam replied, "although I really should get that up and running before the new semester starts. You going to be around later in case I need help?"

*giggles* "Of course!," Lee says.

"Great! So, know what classes you want to take, yet?"

Lee flails. "I have no idea! The listing hasn't been put up and I am sorry to admit that I'm in a panic over this."

"Okay, whoa, calm down," Sam said. "What would you like to take, if it was offered?"

"I can hardly answer that question as I have no idea what kinds of classes will be offered! I know I won't be taking anything similar to what I took last semester so," and he's begining to calm down, "probably a sociology course, maybe some history courses. That sort of thing."

"Sounds good," Sam said, "I'm kind of hoping for something physical to do, since I've completely gotten out of the running habit."

Lee blinks and repressed all images of naughtyness for he is a gentleman and not a Neanderthal. "It would be nice if they had some good phys ed classes," Lee agrees politely. "Yeah, didn't Cam have a SGC harem running thing going last semester? We should start that up again."

Sam, being herself, had no idea that she'd said something that could be horribly misconstrued. "Wouldn't it?"

"Yeah, there were a bunch of us running every morning, but as everyone found reasons to stay in and snuggle with significant others classes got going, it kind of fell apart."

"Well, let's put the pieces back together. What time do you like to start running of a morning?" he says.

"Before classes is probably best for me," Sam said, thinking, "so it depends on what the schedule looks like. Otherwise I end up all sweaty and stinky and late for class."

"I get up pretty early anyway, so I think we can manage that. Want to start tomorrow just to get ahead of the game?" he asks.

"Tomorrow's good," Sam nodded. "Need to work off all the holiday alcohol anyway. What time?"

"Seven?" he offers.

Actually, it's even slightly squicky with canon ages (not actors ages, of course, err...). Just slightly. I mean, they could get away with it, but hrm. *ponders* PLUS WHAT AM I SAYING! I AM A CANON SHIP WHORE. .... *sekritly snogs you behind the bleachers*

I didn't know about the squickiness, as I have yet to get addicted to BSG. I, too, am a canon ship whore. ... *snogs you back liek woah, blames an alien virus*

Lee loves how easy it is to get awkward as frak with Sam. "Loves" as in OMGWTFHELP. "Cool" is all he can think of as a reply.

Well, he's, in theory, in his twenties with Sam just turning forty. It's not SQUICKOMG per se....especially as my first BSG ship was Lee/Laura Roslin. So I'm just a big old hypocrite..... *thinks Sam is awesome at snogging but ponders own death via black widow*
