Second Floor Hallways

Jack begins decorating the hallway with streamers, ballons, flowers, and signs that read "H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y P A R K E R !!!!!" There might be coded messages in the signs along the lines of the fact that the second floor rocks the house down. Or maybe not.

Lee joins up with Jack and admires his decorations. "Need any help there, Jack?"

"Always. Can you stretch that streamer over to the top of that door?" Jack hands Lee a baby blue streamer and points to the top of a door halfway down the hallway.

Lee nods and takes the streamer. And pretends that he's tall enough to put it on the top of the door. "How's it going, Jack? Did you get your memories back?"

Jack kicks over a stepstool. "Here, use this. I don't expect you to, you know, be able to stretch out your limbs like they're made out of rubber." He stops and thinks. "None of the new students can do that, right? Because that would be handy right now."

Jack drags out another stepstool and starts twining mint green and lavendar streamers around the baby blue one. "Yup, got my memory back. I know all and remember all. How was your holiday? Did you go home?"

Hearing Jack's voice, Angel poked his head out of his door. He spotted the sign.

"Hey, Jack. Didn't you misspell 'Maureen'?"

"No, because I am *friends* with Parker and respect her decision to call herself what she likes. I respect all my friends like that. Snookums. Plus, I really like the part where all my limbs are attached." Jack grins and drapes a hot pink streamer over Angel's head.

"Okay, you know this is not my coloring," Angel said. He took the streamer off and gamely reached up to tack it to the hallway wall. "Washes me out."

"Yes, Angel, but the streamers don't come in black. Okay, they do, but the line works better if they don't. Besides, while I know Parker is fond of her basic black, it seemed a little inappropriate for her birthday." Jack holds a length of bright yellow next to Angel's face. "You really are more of a winter, aren't you?"

Krycek looks out into the hallway from his room (230), blinking at the streamers until he remembers the e-mail that Angela sent out. "...Nice decorations. Need help still?"

"Oh, yeah. I so need like five more hands. Er... I'm speaking metaphorically. I don't want to sprout extra limbs or anything. By the way, I've seen you around but I don't think I've ever introduced myself. Jack Harkness. Today, I'm an interior decorator."

"Yeah, probably should watch what you wish for, here," Krycek smirked. "Alex Krycek. Today I might be any number of things."

"Tinker, tailor, solider, spy?" Jack asks whimsically. He hands off a few posters that read, "Happy Birthday Parker!" in large, friendly big, colorful letters, and "" worked into the Greek Key design of the borders.

Parker comes to a dead stop, blinking.

Then she smiles, slowly and gleefully. "Jaaaaack. I looooove you, you big goofball! When did I tell you it was my birthday today?"

She bounces in place, making Esme hide inside the carryall again because she's getting motion sick.

If Parker hugged people, she'd be hugging Jack. As it is? He is *so* likely to get lucky sometime soon.

Jack grins at her and loops a length of streamer around her. "A little birdy told me. Happy Birthday, Parker. Does this mean you need a rename token for your username to make it mparker17?"

Parker does a victory dance, right there in the hallway. "Tell the birdy they rock! I was just going to ask for a cake in-town tonight, but this is so cool! And yes, I think that might be a good idea, you know?"

"So do I get to kiss the birthday girl?" Jack asks with a sly grin.

"Jack!" John's all nice and clean after his swim in the pool. "Decorations for the party? You're so sweet."

Jack tosses him a bag of ballons. "Here, hot-air boy. Blow these up."

"I'm not full of hot air!" But John obeys and starts blowing up balloons. He might let one go right behind Jack's back though.

Heading back from the common room, Cameron's plane nearly flies into one of the balloons.

"Whoa!" He manages to dodge the plane and blinks at the decoration, then realises who is putting it up. He clears his throat and tries to put on his best behaviour. "Yo, Harkness."

Jack looks up, and remembers the voicemail he got. "Hey, Cam. How... how are you doing?"

"I'm good," he clears his throat and scuffs at the floor. "Being less... jerk-like."

Vala's wandering through (o.k., she was bored and heard the noise). "Oooh! Nice with the decorations, Jack!"

Jack grinned at her. "Hey, yourself. Thanks. I want it to be... festive, you know?"

Having returned from taking a run, Sharon smiled happily at the decorations. Sometimes, school was a blast.
