The lobby had been rearranged to fit in a bunch of podiums and a big board that looked a lot like this.

Hades was at his own podium with note cards. "Welcome to Fandom Peril!, not Jeopardy!, because that would be a violation of copyright and we all know that that's a bad thing, right? Yeeah. Anyway, Fandom Peril!, brought to you by Proud Republican and Tory Students.

Aim of the game is to get as many right answers as you can. The categories are Fandom-related. You pick a category and an amount, listen to the clue, then buzz in and answer in the form of a question.

To get the group spirit going, yeah that's it, group spirit, each podium can have a team of up to four. Cram in there if you have to. Any team member can buzz in and answer. In the form of a question.

And on to our first round. The categories are: Animals John Has Turned Into, Invasions, Detention, Potpourri (about anything and everything), Roadkill (that's about Fandom wildlife) and Colors That End in 'Urple'. Team one, you get to pick the first category."

[OOC: PRATS folks get in there! Everyone who's allowed on campus at the time is welcome to join in. ie: non-PRATS more than welcome! Pick a podium, jump in, if the podium is full jump in anyway. Hades will be pleased if you cheat. Fight over who buzzes in first. It's free for all madness. Wait for OCD! OCD up!]

[ETA: Order sucks. Just pick a category and you'll get a question. Chaos reigns! Hades isn't keeping track.]

After Alpha Beta Gremlin, D wasn't really in the mood to go back to her room. She'd spent enough time in there over the weekend.

Also? She had an inexplicably large amount of cupcakes that she'd just picked up from J.GOB and there was no way she could eat them all herself.

So she set them out on the counter in the common room, took one for herself and went to see what was playing on the TV.

She found the remote and began flipping channels before taking a bite of a rather tasty cupcake, "Happy birthday to me."

[OOC: Free cupcakes! Open! Not a party, just a girl hanging out in the common room with cupcakes.]
[identity profile] tricksy-spy.livejournal.com
Aly had left her office in just enough time to set up the gym for cheerleading because she totally didn't forget she was supposed to really.  She turned on some music just a BIT loudly and waited for the cheerleaders to show up.

[OOC: Wait for the happy OCD is up!]
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Krycek had woken up with breasts. That, according to all the varied shrieks and high-pitched yelling he'd been hearing all morning, was apparently par for the course today.

After a morning of figuring out what exactly lay where, Krycek had found an older shirt of Jake's that had been jammed in a corner of the closet and fit reasonably well and belted a pair of jeans as tightly as possible around his waist, then walked barefoot out to the CR to make some waffles. Rummaging in the fridge gave him a wide array of toppings to put out for whomever wanted to join in.

For some reason, Krycek wanted chocolate syrup on his. Fandom was really really weird today.

[ooc: up for a few hours, so who wants waffles?]
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Krycek had gone to the common room to veg out a bit, but found himself wrestling with a goat for charge of the remote. "You can't even use it!"

"Maaa!"

"I'm not watching MTV," Krycek growled. "Just give it--"

*SNAP*

The goat jumped to the back of the couch with the ruined remains of the remote in his mouth, looking smug.

"You are really annoying," Krycek muttered as he got up to change the channel manually.

[ooc: ...goat modded with permission, yes.]
[identity profile] apocalypsesoon.livejournal.com
John came limping up the stairs from his 'vacation' in the locker (still wearing a kilt and half covered in blue woad), and decided his room was just too damn far down the hall; he crashed on the couch in the fourth floor common room and immediately fell asleep. His walking cast stuck out from under his kilt like a white beacon.

[Common room open, as common rooms are. Cast available for signing.]
nadiathesaint: (drunk)
[personal profile] nadiathesaint
Nadia had slipped away from the "we're bored" party a little while after talking to Chad to hunt down her bottle of fine, Trinidadian rum that she kept under her bed.

Said bottle had not been open when she grabbed it.

It was now below half-mast.

As such, Nadia was now standing on the corner of the roof, both arms stretched out with the bottle clutched in one hand, yelling random Spanish words at the sky.

[ooc: drunk girl on the roof! This means that the roof is open!]
[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com
Jake hadn't managed to hand out all his presents before the day, and had therefore settled down in the lobby with a pile of presents, Christmas cookies and, naturally, a pot of coffee. He was ready for the celebrating to begin, oh yes.

ooc: open for all with presents to hand out (not just to Jake, zomg)
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Krycek was situated in the common room, armed and dangerous (though probably only if you were diabetic) and bored.

Crouched behind the couch, he was ready to take out anyone who came through. Especially if they picked up any of the several other armaments that were sitting in a box in the middle of the room.

[ooc: Feel free to join in!]
[identity profile] 1ordinarygirl.livejournal.com
The mats are out, the cd player is ready to play should music be needed, and cheerleaders are sitting behind a table ready to judge. Although as this is, of course, a cheerocracy, not a democracy, Buffy has final word.

There's bleachers for the audience and representatives of the press (the nuts are for the squirrels, not the newspaper journalists. They get coffee). This will be an afternoon of short skirts, cartwheels and above all CHEER!

(ooc: because I am late posting this, tryouts will continue in slowplay on Monday as well. Come try-out! Mock! Cheer!)
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory was bored, so after a quick run into town to pick up some Ching Tai to share, she made herself comfortable in the common room with all three King of the Bracelets movies and started with the first.

She was fully prepared to helpfully point out the symbolism and archetypes to anyone who seemed to be missing them.

[Open and with Chinese food yay!]
[identity profile] imac-kenzie.livejournal.com
Mac returned from school and took over the fourth floor common room in order to start some semblance of a cookie production line. She'd already ordered a whole load of supplies off the internet, so she pulled out the recipe Izzie left her and some funny shaped cutters, and carted it all down the hall with her.

She's now lying on her stomach on one of the sofas fiddling with some JAVA coding on her laptop while she waits for them to bake. The smell of banana-oat cookies is probably infusing the entire floor by now.
chasingangela: (hanging out)
[personal profile] chasingangela
Angela woke up in a good mood.

And hungry. Very hungry.

Which is why she was currently making a batch of banana-nut muffins in the common room and watching a talk show on TV. It was featuring makeovers on Goth teenagers; Angela scowled at this a tiny bit as she measured out walnuts and preheated the oven.

[OOC: Post is open.]
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
So the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned out before he'd left and Krycek was definitely of the opinion that it was not his fault.

But if it hadn't been, he'd probably still be back in room 230. Instead he was out in the CR, watching Bitterwoman reruns, and hoping Jake wasn't going to wake up until he smelled coffee. Which, with any luck, would be tomorrow.

After he cleans out the filter.
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
Bridge was, once again, adventuring. Although this time, it hadn't strictly been his idea. Rory and Anders were there too, having teamed up to get Bridge out of his room.

After a stop at the first floor stables to pick up someone who was currently stuck as a horse, they're wandering the halls, looking for other people to join in this evening's exploration.

[ooc: locked to them what know who they are.]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory was in the lobby with as many pillowcases as she could find, and was wearing her bestest party dress. It was BLUE. She had pink tights on, too, and pretty yellow ribbons in her hair.

She was attempting to fasten a pillowcase to her head with bobbypins. Because all brides need a veil.

A sign that she had carefully made and stuck up as high as she could reach - so yes, about three feet up - on the wall read, GET MAREED HEEERE.

Vladdie was bouncing around, so VERY excited. Weetiny people! Eeee!

She had also raided her own stash of goodies, and there was a cake made of Hostess products piled up. It would have to do.

[ooc: Because seriously, how many little kids would love to play pretend wedding? And yes, I'm OCD threading this. Hang on okay, we're good, omg!]
can_be_more: (wee!aeryn)
[personal profile] can_be_more
Aeryn doesn't like doing things that might embarrass herself. However, it's also Sunday morning and she knows what time it is. Some things are just more Important.

So she wakes up early, makes her way into the second floor common room, careful of anyone who may be camped out there, and turns on the TV.

She might sing along with the "Smile Time" theme song. She's definitely swaying back and forth with the music. For she is five.
[identity profile] oatmanspatient.livejournal.com
After talking about their day, Marty and Angela are busily making a fort out of all the couch cushions to protect them from the monsters that attack kids who have done bad things.

Marty is also armed with his de-cootying gun for extra protection.
[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com
In the wee small hours of the morning, Molly couldn't sleep. Not wanting to wake Pippi, she left their room to see if anyone else was awake this late. Or early. All the common rooms were empty, so once she made it down to the second floor, she decided to watch TV for a while.

Which is why anyone who came into the common room would find (a normal sized) Molly asleep on the couch with the TV still on.
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
The common room was decorated much more elaborately than normal for birthday parties, since it was supposed to be six times the party, after all.

Thre were drinks, and snacks, and cake for all, and a table for presents.

Happy birthday, Aeryn, Anakin, Isabel, Angela Peter and Archie.

[ooc: Please to be waiting for the OCD It's up, have at it!]
[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com
"We might want to intercede here," Krycek said, watching the Mole Men. "Or explode, which I'd really rather avoid."
And now, the exciting conclusion... )

[ooc: Same Deal. OOC Commentary welcome, but this time, if a Swerval individual or two Shakespearean blokes want to explain what happened to them, they can do that ICly too. Woo!]
[identity profile] psycho-barbie.livejournal.com
Dressed in robes of blinding white (which looked suspicously like they were bedsheets in a previous life), Callisto made her way down to the second floor common room, because, really, it was the swellest common room.

Going over to the kitchen, she started cooking something which might have been porridge. She began singing again. "Onward virgin soldiers, marching us to war..."

[ooc: Open for mocking interaction.]
[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com
[ooc: Following directly from here. You might want to read that first.]

Cally hits the bottom of the shaft she had fallen in mere moments before, which thankfully came to a safe incline and she merely tumbles sideways until her momentum is stopped by a stack of large sacks. About the only injuries she sustains are the soreness from tumbling over the various things in her toolbelt. She shakes her head and tries to get her bearings on where she has ended up.

She stands up, taking in the surroundings. She appears to be on an upper ledge, looking out over an extensive system of large pipes, enormous valves, and some rather impressive yet antiquated boilers. Something seems out of place, however, but Cally is unable to take in exactly what, as her recon was about to be interrupted...
Cut for length again, yay preplay )
[OOC: Oh noes! What ever will our intrepid heroes do? There is danger! And they are but normal people. Can they possibly save the day? Stay tuned... (No IC interaction possible, OOC commentary welcome, etcetera)]
[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com
Cally has not been having a good day. She had been going over her revised, carefully drawn plans for Pippi's outboard motor, but a slight misstep, a trip, and a fall later, she found them disappearing down an air vent.

Not one to be defeated by an air vent, Cally quickly hops down to her room, put on her orange jumpsuit, straps on her toolbelt, and heads out to start unscrewing the vent...

cut for length, woe )
[OOC: What is in store for our intrepid band of unfortunate heroes? Stay tuned, Same FH-time, Same FH-channel... later today. Preplayed with all parties involved, no IC interaction allowed, OOC commentary happy-shiny fun time okay.]

Anakin lounged against the wall of the dorm building and waited for Molly with a smile on his face.

He had promised her a Jedi party trick for her birthday, and he was going to deliver.

[OOC: Open to Molly and anyone who wants to watch a Jedi show off...]
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Another uneventful day in Fandom. Krycek was flipping channels and, oh, hey, MTV2. And they were actually playing music. Granted, it was the Macarena, but beggars shouldn't be choosers.

Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't the best idea to see if he could actually remember how the dance went while in the middle of the common room. But then this wouldn't be Fandom. And he was still sitting on the couch, so he could always just pretend he was just flailing at the tv...
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Krycek was glad he'd been on his way to the bathroom already when he crossed paths with the red crayon.

Because it was going to take a while to scrub off the large F - PLAGIARISM from his forehead. At least he could wear long sleeves over the PLEASE USE ORIGINAL MATERIAL NEXT ASSGNMNT that had been scrawled over his forearm when warding it off.

[OOC: Open for all your mocking/scrubbing/snarking needs!]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
The common room had been decorated with streamers of pink and white.

There were pools of bright pink and silver glitter littering the tables.

There was one table with a cake, snacks and beverages, and another with a small sign saying "Presents" on it.

You know the drill.

[Going up supah early because I am going AFK soonishly and also there are time zone issues.]
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
Bridge has heard about the pool. But he's never actually been *in* the pool. So he's decided to fix that. Armed with towels and a swimsuit, he's wandering the dorms, recruiting people to go swimming.

[ooc: open to those who know who they are]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory had spent a large portion of her afternoon decorating the common room. There were light yellow and orange streamers strung across the ceiling, and there was a large, pretty banner spelling out, "HAPPY 17TH, JAYE."

And there were snackies and drinkies. But not the kind that Jaye had on the radio last night. Because no one wants to be in another pageant, do they?

[WAIT FOR MY OCD OR I WILL SIC THE WALLABY ON YOU. Yay, threads are up and the threat of the wallaby is no more.]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory made her way to the common room after Caritas, and, deciding not to disturb Anakin in her room, curled up on the couch and started watching an old episode of Bitterwoman.

Within minutes, she was fast asleep.

[Feel free to mess with her a bit - draw on her, etc. Please know that if you write anything derogatory/mean, you'll have quite a few people pissed off at you. Plottiness will be going up in a little while, but in the meantime, have fun. OH, and plz to not be waking her.]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory stood outside the door to the basement, wearing a bathing suit and board shorts with a bag slung over her shoulder containing the necessities: towels, her phone, a heavy flashlight, her stake, a thermos of coffee, and her somewhat depleted candy supply.

[locked to those who know who they are, yo.]
[identity profile] game-of-you.livejournal.com
After the production last night, all the cast and crew seemed to want to do was to go home and sleep. As for Dream, all he wanted to do was think about his conversation with Titania, and what could have been. That particular train of thoughts ate the night.

But the formalities must be observed, and the actors and technicians deserved some small celebration. To that end, Dream has assembled a buffet and put on soft, relaxing classical music. With the desks pushed to the side and flowers and candles scattered throughout the room, only the light scent of chalk betrays the room's workaday purpose.

[OOC: I'm here. Rory is AFK until later today, woe. Open to cast, crew and invited guests only. And yes, we should play out acts IV and V today if at all possible.]
[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com
Krycek had enough with the sitting around playing Playstation games in his room, so he came out to find out what cable had to offer.

Cable apparently had a perky blonde junior detective by the name of Vanessa Saturn. Krycek was quite all right with watching her her for the time being.

[open to all, for your rockin' second floor common room needs]
[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com
Rory arrived in the lobby balancing a tank with a wee turtle in it against one hip, a box from J,GOB in the opposite arm, and a flying puppy on a leash leading her.

She tied Vladdie to the leg of a table, set Yoda's tank and the cake down, and looked around to see what she still needed to set up.

[Yes, even crack-addled ideas like this need OCD threads. Wait for 'em. They're up, but play on the contest itself won't start until 5:30 EST.

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com
Current residents of the fifth floor dorms: One girl. One cat. One horse. Possibly several plants, but they can't play so we're not counting them for now.

So, what do one girl, one cat and one horse do when they have an entire floor to themselves? They (well, the girl) turn up the music really loud and they play in the hallway.

They started out with a version of kickball which mostly involved Molly and Old Man kicking a ball back and forth down the hallway while Furrball chased or, more often, got run over by the ball.

Eventually though, Old Man had gotten tired of that and wandered off to do whatever it is that a horse who can open doors for himself is want to do. So now Molly was running up and down the hallway with a sock tied to a piece of string while Furrball chased after it.

[[OOC: Open to anybody. The music is really loud. Probably obnoxiously so. Come ask her to turn it down if you want. :) ]]
[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com
Okay, so it's a little dusty in here. Anders grabs one of the couch cushions and gives the tables and chairs a quick wipedown. Then, coughing, he straightens up the rest of the couch cushions and lays out the several trays' worth of loot from Jeff, the God of Biscuits on the countertop. He's a little bit out of breath by the time he runs down to his room and back up for the sodas, cups, and chips, but everything is pretty much good to go for tonight's big guys-only brainstorming session.

He flops down onto one of the couches and waits for John and whoever else might show up.
fh_jackass: Logan Echolls (Alcohol)
[personal profile] fh_jackass
Logan had hooked up his gamestation to the flatscreen TV and was playing a videogame involving a lot of women in bikinis bouncing up and down. He was drinking a non-descript beverage from a plastic cup, and anyone within two feet of him would notice the odor of tequila wafting off him.

A couple of coolers with beverages (all non-alcoholic) were set up around the room, and bags of chips and other snack foods were laid out on the table.
[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com
If anyone were to wander down the 2nd floor hallway, they'd see Bridge hanging out by the stairs, checking through the contents of his knapsack.

[ooc: open to those who... well, they know who they are.]

Cally, with Anders mysteriously not attached at the hip, sits in the second floor common room. She has a big piece of paper and some markers. She appears to be trying to make a poster of some sort.

This work does not require all of her attention. In fact, it could be very easy to pull her attention away from it.
[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com
Barbossa feels that it's time to enlighten the new students (and faculty, should they feel like attending).

So he's gone through his archival footage of the last semester and tried to pull up video, audio, and photos of what makes Fandom High such a...unique...place to be.

He has put his copy of the holiday pageant into the common room's VCR first, but he also has tape of Annie the Vampire Slayer, the Strip Triad tournament, footage from Zombie Weekend, and Talky Toaster hitting on absolutely everything that walked past him.

In addition there's a copy of Jake's radio apology to Logan (and the song requests), the broadcast of the night Angel got souled, and photographs of Logan as a bunny, Cam as a puppy, John Crichton as Johnina, Marty as Connor, Anders wearing makeup after his first encounter with a gremlin, and the JA leather show.

If you ask him nicely, he'll even sell you a copy of Anakin's version of Little Bunny Foo Foo. He'll definitely let you watch the entire night's work of one Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants.

Come in, newbies, and be enlightened! Come in, old timers, and be humiliated! Come in, Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants! Barbossa has pie.

Parker's got the cookies, Twinkies, and drinks, all laid out as promised.

She's just waiting for her classmates to show to discuss what they want to do this week.

Posted in [livejournal.com profile] fandomhighdorms because it was set in the third floor common room at a non-descript time late Friday night. Since this is pre-played and, by the end of it, everyone has left, no IC interaction can occur, but OOC comments are welcome. Rory, bored beyond all reason, wandered out to the common room.

She sat on the back of a couch and flipped onto it, keeping her legs hooked over the back.

She started watching Enchanted. Upside-down.

She would totally welcome any interruptions.

[ooc: Open like whoa! Especially to newbies I haven't met yet! *whines*]

Rita strolled into the lobby.

She was bored.

Bad things happen when a witch like Rita is left with idle hands.

She sat down, and glared at her still quill, wishing someone would walk past.

[ooc: Open to all, but specifically for ye-who-will-be-the-TA's. You know who you are.]

Bridge has the feeling he's missed something big today.

The second floor seemed unusually quiet.

So he was once again in the common room... this time, with a deck of cards. Playing solitare.

Hey, at least this time he picked a game that's *meant* to be one-player ;)
[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com
Jack begins decorating the hallway with streamers, ballons, flowers, and signs that read "H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y P A R K E R !!!!!" There might be coded messages in the signs along the lines of the fact that the second floor rocks the house down. Or maybe not.

Feel free to help him.

Chloe gives a small grunt as she pulls a box out past the door of room 228 and into the hallway. She has to admit, she's excited about moving up to the East Attic with Veronica. She's really starting to like Piper - and the idea of having her own bit of space.

"I think we're going to need larger and stronger people for some of these boxes," she says to Veronica. "I didn't realize we'd made them so heavy."
