Moving Day (again!) - Second floor hallway

After her omgsoconfusing morning, Rory started to patiently move boxes of her things down the hall from room 236 to 213.

She is but one wee, clumsy, fairly weak girl though, so she would certainly appreciate any help offered.

Unless it's offered by John or Lee, because they are OMG SO DEAD.

Anakin took his other hand and wrapped it into Rory's hair.

The room was spinning a bit for him. He thought she might be getting a little dizzy, too.

Rory was very grateful for this show of support.

She returned the favor by moving her free hand to run her nails very lightly through his hair and down his neck and back.

There was very definitely an increase in the attention being given to thoroughly kissing Rory back.

Anakin finally broke away, leaning his forehead against hers. "Other people are helping you move, right?" He sighed. "People who might be looking for you?"

Rory pouted slightly. "Yeah. And I also still have about forty-three thousand boxes to move. Not to mention all the ones holding books, which I'll have to drag or something." She leaned forward and kissed him lightly once more before pulling away entirely and rolling off the bed to stand up.

She frowned. "I may need to install shelves," she said pensively, looking at the distinct lack of space.

"I can help with that this weekend, if you'd like," he offered. "I'm pretty good with my hands."

If that comment is taken two ways, well, so be it.

Rory smiled. "Okay. 'Cause, y'know, you're all tall and stuff, too. And that's helpful. I probably wouldn't even need to ask anyone else to help, even."

"Yeah, too many people and things get confusing," Anakin said, nodding. "They just stand around not being helpful." He smiled. "Two people is better."

"Like now. I mean, I had a bunch of people helping me out in the hallway and stuff, and this? Is definitely more productive," Rory replied, nodding wisely.

Anakin smiled. "Two of us moved furniture around. I see no reason why we couldn't put up a few little shelves."

"And maybe something for Vladdie. Like a hammock," Rory mused. "Because he really likes hanging out on the ceiling, and I don't want him to wear himself out by hovering."

She blushed. "And I'm literally talking about Vladdie in this instance, in case you were curious," she added with a slight smile.

"Thanks," Anakin said with a grin. "I don't see either of us as the hanging out on the ceiling type."

"Well, and I for one cannot hover. Unless you floated me again like you did with the couch that night," Rory added helpfully.

"But then you'd be on the ceiling, and I'd be down on the ground all lonely," Anakin pointed out. "Far better if we both keep our feet on the ground, I think."

"You can't make yourself go all floaty?" Rory asked as she waved vaguely towards the ceiling.

"Not without a hovercraft of some kind," he said. "I can't lift myself up like that." He gave her a wry smile. "Not that there haven't been Jedi who have tried to for generations."

"That's weird. Could you stop yourself from falling?" Rory wondered. "Because that's not really the same."

"From up to a certain height, yeah, I can lessen the impact," Anakin said. "Like I could jump out the window and be okay." He shrugged. "But the laws of gravity still affect me, and if I fall off a cliff or something, I'm going to be just as squished as a non-Jedi."

"Coooool," Rory said, eyes wide. "But you couldn't like, stop yourself mid-air? And is there any limit on the objects you can manipulate like that?"

Anakin took a step away from the window. "You're not going to, I don't know, toss me out to test it, are you? I can slow myself down, but not stop completely. Which is why Jedi, as a general rule, don't throw themselves out of buildings or off of shuttles."

"Good plan. And I wouldn't do that," Rory pouted. "And not just because I am way smaller than you and wouldn't be able to pull it off."

"Also true," Anakin said, taking another step away from the window, just in case. "I should be heading out now, though. And not because I'm in any way afraid that you will try to toss me off of something high, just to make that clear." He looked into her eyes. "See you later, though, yes?"

"Absolutely," Rory nodded. She looked at the boxes they had brought in and sighed. "Should probably unpack or something anyway. Or, duh, move the bazillion other boxes in." She grinned. "But you go do something fun and not involving boxes or falling out of windows, as that would make me sad."

"No, nothing fun," he said. "Meditating. Or possibly dealing with my spastic roommate. Nothing I'd actually want to be doing."
