Second Floor Common Room [Come one, come all.]

After waiting in his room for Carter for over an hour Jack decides that he must've been blown off. Either that or that she's working on something and still thinks she has "two more minutes."

Either way Jack has decided to go watch some TV to take his mind off it all.

"Ooh hey, Jon Smith. Huh. That kinda looks like the librarian."

Charlie grinned. "You'll get used to everyone. They don't bite. Well, actually, some do. Most don't. Where you from, Peter?"

At least the students here had good senses of humor. He was pretty sure that was humor, at least. "New York. This place is a bit of a change from that. Smaller buildings, for one."

"Hey, me too! New York, that is. This place is a lot smaller than home, that's for sure. Hard to get a good hot dog too."

"Where in New York?" Peter asked. "I know what you mean. I was looking for a vendor at 4 AM and there was nobody around. It's a travesty."

"Born in Brooklyn. We moved around a lot though. My Dad was Air Force. Ended up here and there when we came back. Ended up going to high school in Harrison up north of the city. It's always been home, though. And as for the hot dog? You can't find a vendor around here at 4 *PM* let alone AM. It's crazy."

"I'm from Queens," Peter said. "Didn't move from there until right now."

"And no hot dog vendors is blasphemy. This town is clearly evil."

"Finally, someone who understands the necessity of hot dogs! I'm thinking about buying a hot dog maker. Won't be the same, but it'll be better than nothing. Where you rooming? On this floor?"

"A hot dog maker? That implies knowledge of what goes into a hot dog. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that knowledge."

"I'm in 313. Seems like a decent place to room," Peter said. "Nothing going on in the common room, though, hence my wandering down here."

"Well, by 'hot dog maker' I mean the heater thing that you put the hot dogs in so they rotate and cook properly. I don't wanna know what's in them either. As for the common room, well, yeah. It's always busy on the second floor. Most of the people are here, so there's always something happening."

"Oh, thank God. Any knowledge beyond 'There's meat in them' is too much knowledge."

Peter made note of this common room information. "I'll keep that in mind. Stop by when I need entertainment, avoid like the plague when I need alone time."

"That's pretty much the way it goes."
