After waiting in his room for Carter for over an hour Jack decides that he must've been blown off. Either that or that she's working on something and still thinks she has "two more minutes."

Either way Jack has decided to go watch some TV to take his mind off it all.

"Ooh hey, Jon Smith. Huh. That kinda looks like the librarian."

"Yeah. I haven't even met anyone yet and already I know more about people's sex lives than I really want to." Peter turned the phone off out of fear and put it away. "Hi. I'm Peter. I'm new."

"Peter!" Anakin held out his hand. "Anakin Skywalker. I'm your school-assigned big brother. Welcome to the insanity."

"I have a big brother now? That wasn't in the brochure." Peter smiled. "Thanks for the welcome. But when you say 'insanity,' how insane are we talking?"

"On a scale of one to ten? We're normally around a 14. Today we're peaking a little higher."

Anakin flung himself onto a sofa. "Have you heard about the gremlins? Or the zombies? Or Locker 327?"

He gave Peter a small smile. "And before you ask, yes, I'm serious."

"Don't forget to tell him about the CDs the pirate sells, they're real popular."

Anakin shot Jack a look. "Never liked you much."

He smiled at Peter. "Pay no attention to that."

"No attention is paid, BB," Peter said, amused.

"Call him Annie, he loves that."

"Not if he wants to live to graduate, O'Neill."

"Threatening him? Wow you really are taking this whole big brother thing seriously, huh."

"Getting into the spirit." Anakin grinned. "How have you been?"

"Eh, been better been worse, cant complain. How about you? Life been treating you right?"

"Oh come on, it was the best rendition of Little Bunny Fu-fu I've heard in a long time."

"Thank you. Really. I mean that," Anakin deadpanned.

"My pleasure. Any chance of another one or are you planning on bing a one-hit wonder?"

"I'm all banthabell-ed out after the pageant," Anakin said. "One more rendition of the Dreidl Song and I might've had to commit ritual suicide."

"Now when you say 'ritual suicide' do you mean cult ritual, seppuku ritual or someting entirely different?"

"Figured I'd come up with one of my own, call it a traditional Jedi ritual." He shuddered. "But then I decided that Principal Bristow would've found a way to bring me back to life just to do the damn zombie dance."

"I heard something about zombies, but nothing on gremlins or lockers." Peter stood by the couch and looked seriously at Anakin. "As long as this school isn't attacked by an 800 pound, fire throwing goblin, I think it's probably an upgrade for me."

"Well, if we are now I'm holding you personally responsible," Anakin replied with a smile.

"The gremlins live in the pipework of the dorms. If they bite you, you go insane for a while. Beings have thought they were three years old, or a Christmas elf, or, and this is just hypothetical, a woman." Anakin blushed. "The gremlins are a menace."

He crossed his legs. "The locker, on the other hand, has a tendency to suck beings into it. I've avoided it for a semester. I'm pretty proud of myself."

He tapped a finger against his chin. "Oh, and there's a kleptomaniacal robot bunny named Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants. He's bribable with pie. Or, apparently, bunny porn flipbooks." He laughed. "Probably better not to ask about that."

"I hope I can manage to avoid the gremlins and the locker," Peter said without any worry. His spider-sense would be helpful around here.

Not following Anakin's advice, Peter found himself asking, "Bunny porn flipbooks? How on earth did anyone find out that he's bribable with that? Who HAS something like that?"

"It was hand-drawn just for the little pink terror," Anakin said. "He takes something of yours and demands something in return. He lives on the sixth floor with Duo and Hamlet. He's still better than the gremlins. Or the toaster that speaks in rhymes."

Anakin can't believe this stuff has become normal for him.

Even Peter was considering the toaster in disbelief. "Toaster. Gotcha."

"Question, BB: Why is a toaster rhyming?"

"It talks in rhyme all the time, it insults you and you're little dog too!" Jack was proud he managed to think that one up.
