5th floor common kitchen - Monday - early morning - International House of Pippi

Pippi is back in the kitchenette attached to the 5th floor common room. She's making pancakes.
When they're ready on one side she throws them up into the air where they flip over rather then sticking to the ceiling, and land back on the iron grittle she's set up on the stove. (Okay, one of them sticks to the ceiling. She leaves it there incase the birds come back. Nobody will notice right?)
When they're done on both sides, she flips them over her shoulder and they fly across the room, landing where a large wooden platter sits on the table.
She's making a crapload of pancakes.
There's sirrup with a lable in sweedish, and under a stray pancake you'll find a jar of Scottish Marmalade. There's also butter that looks like it's from the Emporium (and not imported to fandom in Pippi's luggage thank goodness.)
There's an old coffee pot also on the counter with a strainer and a sign warning that she makes her coffee the old fashioned way like a proper Pirate should, so use the strainer between the pot and your cup when you poor... It all smells quite good.

The pancakes are quite delightful.

"I'm still a little unclear on the whole 'Rover' thing, but I'm guessing I want to keep it that way?" *flip flip* "I'm liking it very much thanks! Everybody here seems so nice. I'm a little nervious about classes though. I haven't had the best success in the past with school."

Well they aren't burnt so Paige is already impressed.

"Yeah you probably do I've only met him a couple of times, but yeah I'd say stay out of trouble cos I'm pretty sure he's more to actions now talk later kinda...ball."

She nods at what Pippi says about not having success at school, "Yeah was kinda...kicked out of my last school, that's how I ended up here."

She looks over at the new guy, "I haven't no," she says turning to address him.

Pippi nodded at Paige's comment about being kicked out of her last school.

"I decided to leave my last school and the teacher told me I should probably not come back for some time... Well, that was some time ago, but, that school didn't seem right for me. They spent all day talking about how much stuff other people have. I mean, I'm there to learn about math, not to keep track of the apple production of some guy's farm across town!"

((well I refresh a lot so all talking works for me and if me and Walter replies at the same just reply to whoever last posted and I'll pick it up) but due to different timings we could both, ie have this convo then have the joint one after, I'm easy really (no not like that))

"Yeah that doesn't really seem like anything you'd need to know unless you're planning to go work for the farmer or something. So what classes are you taking here?"

"I got into Beginner's Math, which is very important. Intro to... thing-finding, only they call it something different I don't remember right now. And Creature Languages. I was thinking of adding a class... But like I said, not such a good track record with school. So I'll see how this goes and maybe try harder to get into more classes next time."

'If there is a next time', she thinks to herself.

"How about you?"

"Im taking Creature Languages too, I took Cat last year so figured I might as well learn a few more animal languages too, might be handy one day, and I'm taking Sociology of the Paranormal and Sex and erm Magical Theory, that's the good think about this school, the classes are more interesting than in most school, I mean I could seemagical theory being more help than maths for me."

Pippi nods. "Tommy always tells me that you never understand how important the things you learn in School until you need them... But honestly... I don't see what the great need for knowing the capital of Portugal. If I'm in Portugal, and I need to find the capital, I'll ask somebody, or I'll just buy a map! They usually mark 'em with a little star on maps y'know." Pippi said smartly.
