Second Floor Common Room, Tuesday Night

Sam stood in front of the counter. On the stove were three tea kettles, heating nicely. On the counter were several bowls, with colored powder in them. When the kettles whistled, she measured the water, poured it into the bowls, stirred them until the powder dissolved, then carefully carried the bowls to the fridge. Two of the bowls were full of blue liquid.

Anyone who knew or cared about this sort of thing might notice that the bowls were full of raw Jell-o in every flavor except red. Not that she was bitter about the cafeteria's lack of blue Jell-o or anything.

Peter held his arms up in triumph. "Excellent. I knew lollipop duty would work better than hanging up posters that I don't have!"

"Someday science will find a way to mix oil and water. I'm sure of it. No clue what the point would be, but still!"

"I have posters!" Bridge grins. "Cally made them! To go with her 'Don't Vote Cally!' ones." Bridge tilts his head. "Science doesn't always need a point!" he declares, "like, I heard of these researchers who, like, tracked the migration of teaspoons."

"I just met Cally. She didn't mention that she was... not? running. I guess that's the point," Peter shrugged.

Peter then just stared. "The migration of teaspoons?"

"The half-life of a teaspoon is 81 days," Bridge says solemnly.

Peter responded with the only sensible answer. "Buh?" After a moment, he said, "It's always a blast to talk to you, Bridge. I have to get going, though. Talk to you later?"

"Sure, dude." Bridge says with a friendly wave.
