First Floor Lobby - Sunday Evening

Hawkeye was in his favorite place again. Well, favorite because he hadn't really bothered to look around much in town. After spending time in Korea, stuck in the same camp day after day, Hawkeye had learned that it was better to bide your time in a new place and explore it slowly, especially if you were going to be there for a while.

He was content with the lobby, his room and his office for now. Maybe he would venture out into the town next week and find a bar or the location of those delicious pastries he'd seen waft in and out of the lobby as people came and went.

But for now, the lobby was his domain. He sat with a crossword puzzle. Hopefully this time he wouldn't need to call in his friend all the way from a Naval ship just to get the answers.

"If there's a blockage in the leg, then the tissue in the leg can die and the blood vessels can become weakened and sometimes it's not possible to save the leg. Sometimes it is, with the right equipment and if the problem is dealt with quickly enough."

"Mr... Doctor Pierce? Do doctors generally not like going to see other doctors?"

"Doctors make the worst patients. We learn so much over the years and have to be confident to do our jobs, and sometimes that makes us forget that we don't know everything and that we can't treat ourselves." He was catching onto the fact that these questions weren't just random, and probably had something to do with the doctor she'd mentioned earlier. He wasn't going to say anything though, but he had a feeling that dropping by the school clinic this week was probably a good idea.

Pippi ~~the little instigator~~ took a bite of her scone.

"I'm keeping you from your crossword, I'm sorry. What's another one?"

"Thirteen down. Seven letters. A tall, easily-spotted leaf-eater."

"Giraffe?"

"Giraffe!" He wrote it in. "Thanks Pippi, for the answers and the scone."

"You're very welcome." she said getting up. "Thank you for talking to me about being a doctor. I need to go write a letter. Good night, and good luck with your crossword! Let me know if you want help with any other clues!"

"I will!" Hawkeye packed up his crossword book, pencil and scone and headed back to his room.
