2nd Floor Common Room [Friday Afternoon/Night]

After the emergency power kicks in, Bridge wanders in to the 2nd floor common room, carrying a white bedsheet and a stack of DVDs, RIC trundling along behind him.

After hanging the sheet from one of the walls, he calls Rory and asks her to bring her laptop. He could have just used his, but hey, this way they can watch movies *and* eat waffles.

After some consideration, he goes back to his room and drags out all the extra blankets and plops them on a couch.

[ooc: we've got dvds, a laptop that makes waffles, and a robot dog with a projector. come watch movies!]

"Ooo, cookies." Bridge says, accepting them gratefully.

"Dude, we're not exactly compatible," he informs the parrot gravely.

"I apologize preemptively for everything the bird is going to say. At least maybe you won't understand some of it. Unless you speak Chinese." The bird proceeds to call Bridge a frog-humping son of a bitch in Mandarin. Zero ignores it and smiles brightly at Bridge.

"No, just English and Sirian," Bridge says, frowning at the bird. He may not understand what it just said, but he has the distinct feeling that it's not exactly flattering.

"He said he likes you and hopes you'll be his friend," Zero lies.

"Uh-huh. Sure."

"No, really, he--" her shoulders sag. "All right, it was very vulgar. But I really do think that's what he means by it. I mean, he says it to my da all the time!"

"Maybe he's not a people pers- er, bird," Bridge suggests.

"No, he's very friendly. In his own way."

"LET ME IN, MUMMY."

"Oh, please don't start that again."

"I'M SCARED OF THE BOMBS."

Once more, Zero gives Bridge that too-bright, slightly brittle smile. "I'm going to kill my brother. Stupid play."

For some reason, Bridge is even more disturbed by this than the insults.

"Maybe your bird should go see Dr. Pevensie or something," he suggests. "Talk about those issues."

"It's a thought. There was this..." Zero flails a bit with the hand not holding a birdcage. "Play. That my brother did the sets for. There's a bit that's, well, that, and he thought it would be funny to teach it to the bird." She shrugs. "Hopefully he's got it out of his system for a while now."

"I hope so too, 'cause creeeeepy!" Bridge says, flailing a bit.

"Yeah, try sleeping while he's on about it. Doesn't really happen." Zero shrugs. She's used to it by now.

"I am very glad that my dog doesn't do stuff like that," Bridge says, gesturing to RIC.

"Maybe I need a robot parrot instead. Only, then wouldn't he not sleep?"

"Well, no," Bridge shrugs. "But RIC is very good about letting me shut him off at night, even if he doesn't need it. Except when he gets hyper- then he expects me to play fetch for like, ten days straight." He rolls his eyes.

"It's good that he lets you shut him off, I guess. Not so good that he wants to play for days on end." She eyes Fish warily. "I don't think I could handle Fish being hyper for ten days straight."
