VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

Logan gave her a slightly sheepish look. "Are you okay?" he asked, as he took the supplies from her and started mixing up waffles.

Cordelia spotted Logan and looked away from him quickly before he could catch her eye.

Rory smiled. "I'm okay. Hurt my knee, but otherwise fine. And hey, this time? Coffee was actually a weapon.* And I didn't even stab my mother or whack anyone with a frying pan."

"I'm glad you're all right," Logan smiled. "Congratulations on the coffee-fu. Did you hit any of them with waffles?"

"You only use those on vampires, silly," Rory sighed, shaking her head. "Speaking of which? Molly told me what happened. And I repeat, glad you're okay. Wish you'd told me, though."

Logan shrugged. "Nothing to tell. We got away clean."

"Uh huh," Rory nodded. "Did she drug you too?"

"Too?" Logan asked, then made the connection. "Is Darla the one that grabbed you the other night?"

Rory nodded again. "Yes. Grabbed me outside Caritas and chloroformed me. Tied me up, shoved me in a closet. Fun stuff. So, heard your house got hurt."

"Oh my god," Logan said, staring at her. "Did she hurt you? How did you get away?"

"She didn't hurt me. Threatened to, yes. Threatened to turn me, too," Rory said, sighing. "But no, she didn't. She just let me go. Angel thinks she was trying to scare me and she's sending a message."

"If the message is 'stake me', then it's coming through loud and clear," Logan said grimly.

"I agree," Rory said with a derisive snort. "So, your house? Woe?"

"Oh, yeah," Logan said. "House fall down, go boom. This... tentacle monster thing pulled it apart."

"Aw," Rory frowned. "Does your insurance cover that kind of thing? Claim natural disater, act of God or something?"

"I don't think I'm covered for Act of Tentacle," Logan said. "But maybe I can claim it happened in a blizzard."

Rory shrugged, and winced. "My grandfather's big in insurance, so if you need counsel, let me know."

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind," he said with a smile. He finished mixing the waffle mix and stared down at the laptop. "How do I make this into a waffle iron, again?"

"The button on the side, on the right," Rory said, gesturing over the back of the couch. "So. What's new other than, y'know, snow zombie thingies?"

Logan pushed the button and watched the laptop shift. He switched on the iron. "I got an assistant job," he said. "Helping out the Vice Principal with some stuff. What's new with you?"

"Um. Did I tell you my mom's having a baby?" Rory asked, trying to remember. "It's seriously been forever since I just talked to you."

"That's great!" Logan said. "Tell her congratulations for me."

"I'll pass it along." Rory shot a look around the room. "So. Are you going on the thing?"

"What thing?" Logan asked, confused.

"The...thing. You know. The hunting thing?" Rory said.
