VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

"I've never wasted coffee on hair before," Rory said thoughtfully. "We should tell Lee that so he'll be less sad."

"We should," Angela agrees. "Why is he sad? I thought I saw Kara Thrace around somewhere lately. I mean, not that girlfriend stuff is the only reason he'd be sad, but..." her voice trails off.

"I just meant sad for his hair," Rory smiled. "He's kind of vain. But yeah, Kara's back, I think."

"Oh. I just figured the coffee would shower out anyhow." Angela grins. "Did anybody tell you about the thing he, Xander Harris and I did in art class yesterday>? It was awesome."

"I thought I saw - I was busy climbing on Bridgey and Barbossa. What happened?" Rory asked with a quirk of her brow.

"I completely forgot we had that class together," Angela admits. "But basically we picked this statue of Apollo and Daphne -- that's the story where she turns into a tree to get away from him, right? Somehow we ended up reversing the genders. So I was Apollo, Lee was Daphne (and he took off his shirt), and Xander was the tree. It was awesome."

"What statue were you guys making?"

"Lee took off his shirt?" Rory asked, distracted.

"He did! He thought it would get us a better grade or something. And I got to put my hand on him, here." She places her unbandaged hand low on her own waist. "It was ... special," she smirks.

"Of course not," Angela says. "So it also won't matter if I tell you that for the pose, my face was about six inches from his and he smelled really nice."

"He so is," Rory nodded. "And I say that as someone who, if she had a boyfriend, would have told him she loves him last night."

Angela stops thinking about shirtless Lee Adama at that comment.

"You told this imaginary person what? That's ... I guess that's good. Do you think you would have been happy about it, and he would have been happy about it, if you had?"

"Yes, I think so. And the imaginary person would have said it back. You know. In my head," Rory said, beaming.

Angela tilts her head to the side. "Actually, you might sound less insane about this then you would when you talk about snow monsters. I mean, in the rest of the world, anyhow."

"This is true," Rory nodded. "But then again, I'm not planning on telling anyone like, ninety percent of what happens here."

"I know. It's ... there's no way to explain this school that doesn't make us sound psychotic."

The word "psychotic" brings her back to Crazy Squid Lady, and ... well, she has to get this over with. She bites her lower lip and speaks softly. "Hey. Did you talk to Anakin or Angel about the thing they were going to do today?"

Rory nodded. "Parker was going to let me go. And then Anakin said no. And then Angel said no, too. So you and I are on at-home support, I guess?"

"That's what I hear," Angela says. "Not sure what good we can do, other than wait for them to come home, but I guess it's better than distracting them by needing to be rescued, or worse."

"Are you okay about not going? I kind of am, I think. Mostly."

"I'm..." Rory frowned. "No, I'm not okay with not going, but I understand why not. I just need something to do while we're stuck here, you know? Or I'm going to have a nervous breakdown."
