VICTORY PARTY! - Second Floor Common Room

The monsters are defeated, and Rory and Parker have been sprung from the clinic.

Both girls made brief stops in their rooms for candy, snack food and drinks, and piled everything on the counter of the common room kitchen.

The TV's on, sound muted, and the stero's blaring "We Are the Champions."

Come celebrate kicking their cold, white asses, people.

"You did? Where were you?" Parker asked from her space on the couch, holding her head and glaring at her bandaged foot.

"I somehow slept until noon--think I thought the announcement was part of a dream. Then I decided one epic battle per school year was plenty and guarded my door with a mallet."

Parker laughed, then winced. "Not a bad plan at all. Have some of the food anyway, celebrate not being a popsicle."

"I am hungry. I need a minifridge; all that was ready-to-eat in my dorm room was bread and peanut butter."

"Do you now?" Parker looked thoughtful. "I'm going to ask ABC for new locks for my doors-- maybe they can build you a minifridge, while they're at it?"

"I wonder what else a minifridge they made might do? That'd be swerval. Not like everyone else's minifridges."

Parker snickered, then sighed. "Oh, and I forgot to tell you-- Esme's back."

"You found her! Yay! Did you kill the bunnynappers without me?"

Parker blushed bright red, either rage or embarassment. "I was too mad. Jarod had her all week. And I lost my temper and didn't ask him who his accomplice was."

"Jarod had her? Well--well, it's not too late, is it? He's here, right, I think all the townies are here, an' I've got the mallet! I could go find out!"

"No. Unless, I don't know, you just happen to see him...." Parker looked away. "I'm never speaking to him again. He said he didn't know what the ransoms were, but I know he thought they were funny. Bastard."

"It'll be okay, Parker. I mean, you didn' get t'do violence, but you got Esme back, right, an' that's the most important thing. Right?" Zero kicked serious ass when her parents got kidnapped, but that's not the point here.

"Yeah." She grimaced. "He fixed my foot."

"Parker, What happened?" Isabel is somewhat confused. Things had been fine at breakfast this morning. She must have missed something when she fell asleep reading her Western Lit assignment.

"Umm, I went out hunting alcohol, and ran into some snow sharks?" Parker rolled her eyes. "Also, Logan Echolls no longer has a house."

"Okay, the hunting for alcohol part makes some sense. But snow sharks? And Logan Echolls house is gone?" She shook her head, "I missed something big didn't I?"

"Oh, wow, I think you missed everything." Parker bit her lip. "It was like Zombie Weekend, only odder. Snow monsters attacked the school. My ankle got grabbed by a snowmonster tentacle, that's why it's bandaged up. I don't know how we won, but we did, so..."

"Snow monsters?" Isabel blinked, even for this place that was a bit odd. "Snow monsters with tentacles? Maybe I'm still asleep and this is just a very realistic dream."

"But if it's not, are you okay? Your ankle isn't broken or anything, is it? Can I get you anything?" She's babbling a bit but it's mostly because she's still trying to process the concept of snow monsters.

Parker laughed a little, then made a face, holding her head. "Stitches, tiny concussion, and a sprain. Just enough to be really frustrating. I don't need anything right now. And no, I'm not making it up, Isabel. People were dropping hot coffee and hot oil and I don't know what else from the roof down onto them. Rory was there, so was Jack." Parker sounds a teeny, tiny bit jealous. "I didn't even get to really hurt one."

"Ouch." She shook her head, "Oh, it's not that I don't believe you, it's just...snow monsters. Well at least you were awake and aware. I was passed out on my bed with my homework."

"I was planning on doing much more productive things with my day," Parker grumbled. "Instead I lost a boot and gained a concussion. I think you came out ahead."

"I suppose. But I think I missed out on a major bonding experience." Isabel shrugged, "But know this place, I'm sure something else will turn up. Mutant leprechauns for St. Patricks or something."

"Oh, god, Isabel, shush! Or I'll make you go into town and turn around three times in the church and spit in the duckpond!" Parker put a finger to her lips, her eyes wide and a little manic. "Someone might *hear* you!"

"Sorry, I forget that things can be pretty literal around here." Isabel looked a little sheepish.

"So, does this mean we still have classes on Monday or do we get a recovery day?"

"I think if the snow's gone, they'll make us go," Parker said sadly. "No one died. ~~Not even any NPCs.~~ They tend to take the extreme view here."
