Sam knocked on the door, ready to help set up for that evening. After all, they needed somewhere to store the extra party snacks, right?

She looked at her To Do list:

Weapons Drop Off/Pick Up
First Aid/Medical Area
Comms
--Laptops
--Cell Phones
--Ear Pieces

Time to get to work.

"Because you don't have an answer," Sam said, perhaps being unnecessarily cruel, but she'd been on both sides and those times she hadn't know what happened to Jack had been torture. "At least when you know...you know."

Rory looked nauseous as she watched the blue dot stop moving again.

"Okay."

"Okay," Angela agrees.

Her eyes don't leave the white dot.

John joins the dot watching.

"I like them better in person," he mutters.

"And not running around trying to get killed."

She shook her head. "You would think the whole having broken up with him would make this easier on me."

"I'm just concerned about my friend," Rory whispered, swallowing.

Isabel slipped in from the party to check. "What's happening now?"

"Me too. We all are," Angela said, reaching out to touch Rory on the shoulder.

"And all of our friends are going to be back here safe in no time."

"We all are," John says, nodding. "He'll be all right." John reaches over and pats Rory's hand gently. "He's got that sword thingy that's awesome."

"They'll be fine," Sam said. "They know what they're doing."

Rory nodded mutely.

"Aeryn's fine, by the way," she noted, pointing to her dot.

"Thanks," John mutters quietly. "This is hard."

Rory gasped as Aeryn's dot flickered and went out.

"John." She grabbed at his hand.

John's staring at the screen.

"What happened?" He looks around blankly then back at the screen. "Where'd her dot go?"

Okay, that might be panic but he can't help it right now.

"Oh, my God," Rory whispered. "I'm not really sure what that means. Her phone'sout of commission. Beyond that I don't know."

Sam's gut clenched, but she tried to be calm for John's sake. "I'm sure it's just an equipment malfunction, Crichton. She'll come back, swearing and angry, but fine."

John scrubs a hand through his hair.

"Yeah." He doesn't sound entirely convinced. "But that might be bad, right? Dots just don't disappear!"

"All it means is that her phone's out of commission," Sam said, still trying to hear what was going on over the headset. "Come on, Parker. Now would be a good time for a report..."

Before John lost his mind.

Angela considered this for a long moment. "I guess you're right," she said. "I already lost him one way, you know?"

"You're still friends, right? Then you haven't really lost him."

"I'm trying to look at it like that," Angela responds, turning her attention back to the screen.

Sam was too busy watching dots and listening for Parker to hear much of what John said.

"Control, we're in the basement, two vamps plus Dru somewhere!"

"Keep your eyes open, Prada. Going silent to give you the element of surprise."
