"It's a football game," Rory explained.

"A sport that is nothing like Pyramid, from what I can tell," Rory said.

"Actually," Anders points out, "It kind of is in a couple of ways, but you really don't want me to go into that again."

"Oh. Okay. I take it that it was an important game, or something?" Cally rubs the back of her neck. "I'm not gonna be uncool cause I missed it, am I?"

"Steelers won. But! Seahawks should have," Rory said. "Just remember that, and you'll do fine."

"Okay. Erm... why should the Seahawks have? Just so I have my bases covered, in case anyone asks," Cally says.

"Because they are from Seattle," Rory explained.

"What's so special about Seattle?" Cally asks, more than completely confused, now.

"There's a huge coffee company there," explains Anders seriously.

"Yes. Though they're all over the place - seriously, I'm surprised there isn't a Starbucks in Fandom - they're based in Seattle, and their coffee is awesome," Rory said solemnly.

"Coffee is highly overrated," interjected Walter, having just managed to escape his apology to Logan (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/450890.html?thread=20153418#t20153418) and come over at Anders' wave.

"And what is this party for?" Asking the redundant question of the hour.

Rory blinked. "Super Bowl," she said faintly. "What was that other thing? Because I could've sworn you just said that coffee is overrated, and that cannot possibly be correct."

"Super Bowl?" Walter blinked back. "You people are celebrating a bowl?"

As to her focus on a bitter brew, "Coffee has nothing on a properly prepared cup of tea."

"How can people not like *coffee*?" Bridge says, a little unnerved by the prospect.

"I don't get it either, dude," says Anders. Who looks kind of terrified.

"Football," Rory answered. "American football. Not, um, soccer," she amended, noting the accent.

"Now, I've got to argue with you on this tea thing. Tea's fine, but there is nothing like coffee. It's so rich and harsh and wonderful, not to mention to caffiene value."

He cocked his head before shaking it slightly. "You can get quite a lot of caffeine from a good tea. I suppose it is a matter of taste.

"But what does any sort of bowl, super or not, have to do with American football? I thought it was rather like rugby?"

"Coffee's better," Rory said staunchly. "Anyway. It's not a literal bowl. I've no idea why it's called that - it's just a really big football game."

"Oh." Walter looked unconvinced. "And did the right team win?"

"No," Rory said sadly.

She blushed suddenly. "I'm Rory, by the way," she said, extending a hand.
