At promply 6:00, Victor can be heard running up and down the stairs yelling "FREE FOOD! 3RD FLOOR!" Any who decides to investigate will find several tables full of various foods set up in the third floor common room. A delicious combination of smells wafts from the display, and several students are standing and waiting to serve you. The entrees are:

Table 1: Sweedish Meatballs, Various Pickled Herrings, and Pancakes

Table 2: Homemade Spaghetti with Garlic Bread

Table 3: Coq au vin (Basically rooster stew cooked with red wine)

Table 4: Cock and Bull Stew (Chicken, beef cubes, tomatoes, potatoes, spices)

Table 5: Warm Apple Pie (Whipped Cream optional)

Table 6: Rice Balls and Sushi, courtesy of Sakura! Yum!

There are a couple of unfolded tables just in case someone decides to add something to the buffet. There is also a table filled with disposable plates, cups, bowls, and utensils, as well as napkins. In the corner are a variety of bottled juices and sodas in an ice chest.

And, as promised, there are Twinkies. Boxes and boxes of Twinkies.

"I don't know, it's not as though we have something that says, 'I like guys' in special ink on our foreheads, but if I had to guess, I'd say no."

Yes, Nadia does now have a mental image of all gay men wandering around with an "I like guys" tatoo on their forheads. And yes, she's visibly amused by this. "Okay," she says. "I was just curious. When do we want to do the glitter thing?"

Walter cannot read minds and thus does not know the source of Nadia's amusement, instead assuming that it's related to the glitter.

"I have to talk to our locksmith ~~and Dewey~~, and I will let you know?" He grinned and said, "I will leave you a voicemail. You will get the glitter?"

Nadia nodded. "No problem. This will be great."

"It will be fun. I just hope we get a better reaction out of him than from 'it's a small world.' I thought it was a good idea, but maybe it was just too easy. I should have known better than to trust to computers."

Nadia smirked slightly. "They can be tricky."

"I have noticed that, but you would think that enlisting someone who knows them intimately enough to potentially date one would have been good enough. Maybe you are right and the principal just secretly loves the song."

"Or the principal had been enjoying some of Lucas' brownies,"

"Lucas' brownies..." Walter groaned. "Were those his fault? I thought it was the dizzy redhead to blame. And where is he anyway? I never did have a talk with him about at least warning people."

Nadia frowned. "You mean Mark? He and his band went back on tour. They were only helping out for a few days, I think."

"So was it Mark or Lucas who was responsible? I would be angrier, but it was my own fault for eating the brownies."

Nadia shrugged. "I don't know. I think Lucas said they were made by some guy named Eddie, but he didn't say who put them out." Nadia raised an eyebrow. "Let it go. Call it a learning experience. Don't trust brownies from people you don't know."

"Yeah, I know. I know. I got more than one learning experience out of the brownies, including the knowledge that Pink Floyd is much better after having eaten them, and that the movie 'The Wall' was probably a result of an overdose of them."

Nadia giggled. She'd never seen the movie, but she had listened to the music with Cesar several times. "Floyd must have really liked his brownies. You do know you can get high through other means, right?"

"You mean like opium? Or are there new drugs?" He rolled his eyes at himself. "Of course there are new drugs, why am I asking that? What do you mean, though?"

Nadia shook her head, still smiling. "I mean you can smoke marijuana, not just eat it in brownies. You can also make tea out of it. And yeah, there are probably several new drugs. Acid, x, crack, heroin, the list goes on."

And she was not about to go into just how much she knew about all of those drugs and their effects. . . often through personal experience.

"Acid?" Walter's eyes widened in incredulity. "How do you use acid as a drug?" Heroin he'd heard of, but acid?

It took a moment for Nadia to figure out where Walter's confusion came from. "LSD? It's a chemical compound. It's called acid the same way marijuana is called pot. It just makes you see stuff."

"Ohhh," The mental connections being made are almost visible as he remembers his reading from the week before. "After the brownies, Alfred made me go read about how drugs can be delivered in food and how to identify them. The thing I remember about LSD is that you cannot detect it."

Nadia nodded. "That's right. That's why you have to be really careful at parties with who you get drinks from." She demonstrated how to hold on to the top of your cup so people couldn't drop something in. "And always remember where your drink is, and keep it covered. My first day here, I was convinced someone had slipped me something."

"But instead you found out it was just "normal" Fandom?" Walter smiled, having felt similarly on his first day. "Imagine what I thought when I first saw a green guy jogging on the wall in the gym."

Actually, Nadia would rather not imagine what Walter first thought when he saw Victor. They got together awfully fast, after all. "It's amazing what you can get used to," is all she says.

"Yeah, it is." There was a desk calling out for his head at that moment.

"Okay. I will see about our locksmith. The new principal seems to keep some fairly unpredictable office hours, so maybe we should try to plan to do our work over the weekend, or maybe first thing Monday morning. I would eat Archie's hat if Dewey were the type to show up on time on Monday morning."

Nadia didn't know about eating a hat, but she'd seen Walter eat and wouldn't put it past him. "Okay. Give me a call or something. I'll see about getting glitter tomorrow."

"I will do that. If I do not see you beforehand. Let me know what my part of the bill is for the glitter."

Maybe there was an uncomfortable silence, maybe he was just thinking of what to say. "Thanks. For... um... well, you know, for being my friend." He looked around at the other people in the common room, sort of looking for a way out before they went back to being horribly uncomfortable. "I should go help with the food. I'm happy you came by, though."
