The Gym, Monday Morning

Isabel had been eating entirely too many doughnuts lately. So when she heard Xander leave for class she decided to head to the gym. She's on the elliptical trainer, moving at a pretty good pace, but definitely willing to say hi.

That stops him. He stares at her for a moment. "Is that a promise?"

Aeryn nods, completely serious. "Most people call it a threat," she says.

"Promise sounds nicer," he rolls his shoulder as if he's trying to test it. Then goes back to hitting.

"Yes, but I'm mean," she reminds him.

He pauses again to look at her, or maybe he's just getting tired. "Only to the right people."

If that's a compliment, she's kind of not used to them in regards to this sort of thing. "And paper towels," she says.

And that makes him grin. "And paper towels. My rolls still haven't recovered."

"I'm sure they deserved it for something," she tells him.

He shakes his head. "They were good rolls. I think you used them to get back at me." He says seriously.

Standing up from the machine, she says, "Yes. Right. You're on to me." And she decides he needs off his pain meds.

"I knew it!" He grins at her.

"I'll see you later," she smiles back, and heads for the door.
