4th Floor Common Room: Wednesday Night

Blair was tired and broke and not really sure what to do about his dating problem. He needed advice and a place to listen to it. Therefore he's taking over the common room and setting up a support group.

Support group consisting of two. Because he had drug Broots out of the room to talk as well. He was older and must have some advice to give him.

She actually laughed, shaking her head. "Yes, Blair, I was being honest. You just heard the story of the destruction of my last three relationships. They just weren't typical of dating situations."

Blair leaned forward and whispered. "To be honest I don't think Broots 'flying tomato' thing was typical either."

Ivanova chuckled. "In that case, add 'being insufferably British' to the 'bad' column."

"Got it! So do you know how to make dating better? Besides just avoiding any of these things?"

"Hmm . . . listening," she said, "if that's not already on there. Not being afraid to apologise, too."

"Excuse me?" Walter interjected, flopping down on a nearby chair.

"No offense meant," Ivanova demured, waving a hand. "Besides, you're not insufferably British."

"Ah, that's alright then. I suppose we should add smoking when your date is not a smoker to the bad column."

Ivanova nodded emphatically at that suggestion. "Any nasty habits should be strickly frowned upon."

Blair nodded and continued writing down suggestions on the poster (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a144/footontheground/list.png) and listened to the exchange.

"Don't talk about your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend while on a date."

"Don't talk about current boyfriends or girlfriends while on a date," Ivanova continued

Blair didn't say anything but blushed bright red.

Ivanova grinned and patted him consoling, and a bit awkwardly, on the shoulder. "'Sokay, Blair, you'll get the hang of it eventually."

Blair smiled, "Thanks Ivanova."

She shrugged. "I have to be nice to the only one - boy or girl - who got me something for Valentines."

"You deserved it." He patted her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, maybe next Valentines will be full of gifts for you."

"It would be a first," she murmured, then dropped her head back on the couch. "I hate Valentines. Which reminds me - I never found out how you made out, Casanova."

Walter put his feet up and waited to see how Blair answered that.

Blair dropped onto the couch next to Ivanova and grimaced. "The day was good, Molly and I had a good time over hot chocolate and I bought a drink for Chloe too. Angela was really cool when I gave her chocolate and then..." He paused and rubbed his face. "the date of not-goodness."

"Nadia found out I was dating other people and stuff and she said that she wasn't going to date me anymore until I figured out what I want and that I shouldn't have not told them about the other girls. And I got my first real kiss, actually two of them, and then she left. Plus my food just about burnt my tongue off."

"If there was smooching involved, it couldn't have been that bad of a date," Ivanova replied, smiling. "But forgetting to tell her about the other girls? That was most definitely a mistake. Not everyone supports the concept of free love, y'know."

Walter nodded emphatically. It was as close to an "I told you so" as he was going to come.

Blair nodded slowly. "I know that now. But it's all I grew up with." He shrugged and looked at Walter nervously. "I'm not trying to make an excuse or anything, man. I like Nadia and I wasn't trying to hurt her at all."

"Did you explain this to her? Perhaps accompanied by roses and a copy of your notes to try and explain the weirdness?"

"I know. And now you know." Walter smiled, and this time he did look sympathetic. After all, he'd ~~shamelessly eavesdropped~~ overheard almost the entire date the night before. "And for what it's worth, you made an excellent gift selection. Miss Clay's work is brilliant. You should put gifts from her on the good list."
