Rory pressed a finger to her lips. "Don't tell anyone. I'm totally undercover."

"Your secret is safe. I'm very sneaky, nobody will ever find out," Peter Parker proudly promised.

"I would expect as much," Rory replied reasonably.

"You can trust me with all of your geeky secrets. Or, if you will," Peter said, "geekrets."

Being locked in his room all weekend did bad things to Peter's brain.

Rory stared.

"Have you met my mother yet?" she finally asked.

"No, I don't think so," Peter answered. "Why?"

"Because that is something she'd say," Rory said, blinking. "But only after coffee."

"And I'm sans coffee," Peter said. "Scary, isn't it?"

"Well, so is she, these days. Or, well, she's allowed decaf," Rory said. "Still scary."

"I feel sorry for her," Peter said. "Medical condition or something?"

"In a manner of speaking. She's going to have a baby," Rory clarified.

"Oh, very cool," Peter said. "Boy or girl?"

"Dunno yet," Rory said though her player totally knows hahahaha. "I get to name it, though."

"Just don't ask me for help with names. I think we've been over that before," Peter said.

"Marty wants me to name it either Barista or Juan Valdez," Rory remarked. "Thankfully, I'm not going to. And if it's a girl, she won't get saddled with the Gilmore Name O'Doom. No matter what I said last night when my player spaced out while talking to Angela."

"The Gilmore Name O'Doom?" Peter asked intrigued.

"I vote Starbucks, personally."

"My name's not really Rory," she said mysteriously. "We may have been over this. I don't remember. But since I already have the Name O'Doom, Baby Gilmore-Danes can't. So ha."

"I think you may have told me while I was busy telling you pretty much everything. My brain was kind of fried at that point, though, so please excuse me if I don't remember about the O'Doom." Peter shrugged. "But, hey, good job keeping your own name."

"It's Lorelai," Rory shrugged. "But if you call me that like, ever, I will be unhappy with you. And if the baby's a girl, I'm still working it out, anyway."

"So how do you get 'Rory' from 'Lorelai' anyway?" Peter asked.

Rory shrugged again. "Lorelai's a big name for a little kid. So the nickname stuck. But then again, how do you get 'Bill' from 'William' or 'Dick' from 'Richard'?"

"I've always figured that the first guy named 'Dick' was just a really big jerk," Peter said. "But you're right. I'm just glad that the short version of 'Peter' is nice and easy."

"My grandpa's named Richard. Thankfully he hasn't done anything recently to make me or my mom call him that. Though it's nice to ge able to get away with it," Rory noted.

"My dad was a Richard, too. I really doubt anyone called him that, though," Peter said with a smile.

"Yeah, my dad's a Christopher and he probably deserves to be called that," Rory said lightly.
