Tuesday Night - 4th Floor Common Room

Blair had Hank's pot and a bag of potting soil on the floor of the common room and was playing in the dirt busy repotting the plant. Ever so often he glanced up at the tv to watch COPS and offer commentary on police states.

"Ow, ow, ow, shoulder!" Ivanova yelped, but she was laughing and hugged him back with the other arm. "History stuff, got it. I'll see what I can pick up for you. And snacks would be great. Earth food is rather expensive back home. Especially coffee. I may go into withdrawal."

Blair nodded seriously. "Coffee. I totally understand that. I'll see what I can do."

"You need coffee, too?" Ivanova raised an eyebrow. "I thought your system produced it. Like insulin or testosterone." She held up the wee yogurt cup. "And voila! My own little green leafy friend!"

"Actually people tend not to let me have coffee. Something about being scared." He shrugged and bounced. "But I tend to stay away from it...stunts the growth, you know."

"Yay! Now you have to name it!"

She didn't comment. She would avoid giving him coffee, too. "Name it?" She held up the little cup. "What kind of plant is it, anyways?"

Blair peered closely at the yogurt cup. "Apparently fat free strawberry-banana."

He giggled and shook his head, pointing and Hank's pot which was just a mound of dirt. "Hank still hasn't sprouted yet, so I have no idea."

"Fat free strawberry-banana . . ." Ivanova mused, still squinting at her pot. For some reason, that made her think of . . . "Talia," she said decisively. "Her name is Talia."

"Talia." Blair smiled. "That's a beautiful name."

Blair poured a few drops of water on top of the cup. "Welcome to Fandom, Talia."

"Yes," Ivanova murmured. "Welcome to Fandom, Talia." She looked wistful for a moment before grinning up at Blair. "Will you keep an eye on her while I'm gone? I'm not allowed to bring live plants on board Babylon 5."

"Sure, she can hang out in my room. I'll play chaperone between her and Hank." He leaned forward to whisper. "He can be quite the ladies man."

Ivanova grinned. "I'm not worried. Talia's not that kind of girl." She gestured towards the potting soil. "You may have to grow him a girlfriend to keep him away from the other lady plants."

Blair nodded. "I may have to do that. I've tried talking to him and singing to him and taking him out for walks. I haven't tried growing him a girlfriend, or dancing."

"Dancing might work," Ivanova replied seriously, but her mouth was twitching a bit. "Have you tried plant food? MiracleGro or something like that?" she asked, peering into Hank's pot.

"No way, man!" Blair waved his hands. "Hank needs love, not chemicals!"


[I can't think of much off the top of my head. I know in the first episode he was listening to drums but I don't remember if he was dancing. I posted the question to a list though]

Right, hippie. "I know you wouldn't go for chemicals," she said soothingly. "But isn't there something else . . ." Ivanova frowned. "I guess I'm not very good at my history. I'll see if I can pick up something for Hank at home. All natural."

"You know, now that I think about it," Ivanova said, staring absently at Talia. "You'd really like the Minbari. They're, ah, this other race that Earth has fairly close ties with. Well, you'd get along with the religious caste. Not so much the warrior caste."

"Really? I wonder if we have any books on them here at the library?" Blair bounced. "And I get along just fine with warriors...I just don't agree with what they stand for."

"I doubt that this library would . . . actually, nevermind. This library might have books on them." She smiled. "I know you get along fine with warriors - you like me, after all. At least, I would hope so."

"I'll check the library the next time I'm there. Minbari, right?" Blair bounced and laughed. "Of course I like you! You're STELLA!"

Ivanova laughed, tossing her hair. "Y'know, you're the only person who actually does that. I must have told a dozen people while I was playing chocolate fairy, but I only get you yelling 'STELLLLLLAAAAAAAAAA!'"

"What can I say, man? It's just way too fun!"

"That was what I thought, too!" Ivanova laughed. "I guess we're the only ones."

"I know!" She chuckled. "That's one story I can't tell my friend Garibaldi. He'll be shouting STELLA! down the entire station every time he sees me. He'll love it."
