Rory made her way up from the memorial and found a Jacques Cousteau documentary on the television.

She solemnly began to watch, attempting to feel actual sorrow over a fish.

It didn't quite take.

Walter waves back. "Hi. I don't know if we've been introduced. I'm Walter."

"Jaye," she says, and frowns. "I think I saw you when I was hanging posters for something or other once."

"I remember that. Something about Principal Smith, if I recall." He sat on the arm of the couch near her comfy chair and shrugged. "Principal Smith was more fun than this one. He doesn't react to anything. It is quite disappointing."

"This one at least doesn't make up details about my sex life for the entire school to hear, though, so yay on that."

Walter nodded in agreement. "I don't really believe anything I hear about anyone else's sex life. Even if - or maybe especially if - it comes from the principal. Everybody lies about sex, right?"

"If they've got something to lie about," she nods. "Or like... nothing at all..."

"People either lie that they're having more or better sex than they really are, or they lie that they aren't having any." Of course, after Arthur's behavior, Walter might be a bit jaded.

"What started your problem with the principal anyway?"

"Um. We played Truth or Dare and he walked in on me giving a dared lapdance to my at the time future boyfriend slash ex," she winces.

"Ouch," Walter said, wincing in commiseration. "That's some dreadful timing."

Jaye nods. "And then he called me for some reason and I picked up the phone trying to scare my sister and then he decided I ran a phone sex line."

Walter facepalmed in sympathy. That sort of thing would take mortification to all new heights - or depths as the case may be.

"And from then on he taunted you publicly? That isn't very professional."

"And then I supported his love for the scary mute ninja and made flags," she says with a shrug. "I was only trying to help. Really."

"I haven't met the scary mute ninja." Although he had met that nice rollerskating girl in the park, but that couldn't be the same person. "But I've been recently educated that ninjas and pirates are taboo, so I think you were doing something valuable. Besides, some ninja-love might have helped Smith's temperament."

"It didn't. It made him pissier. Trust me," she nods. "But he's gone now, and this principal might be open to jazz hands."

"Nothing seems to get to this principal. Trust me, I've tried." Walter shook his head at Dewey's imperviousness to pranks.

Jaye thinks about it. "I'm sure there's some way."

"Hm. Well, I could fill his office with cooked spaghetti, but I prefer not to pull pranks I'm not willing to clean up after afterwards." He shrugged and smirked at Jaye. "Do you know anyone who deserves a bathtub, bed, or closet full of cooked spaghetti?"

"Deserves, no," Jaye says. "Though I could pull some names from a hat anyway."

"Well, if I find out that there is a person behind my shooting spaghetti from my fingertips, he or she goes to the top of the list."

He shook his head and shrugged, "I prefer to prank the deserving. Or at least help others with pranking those they think are deserving."

"I'm so putting your number in my cell phone," she says. "Eventually, someone will deserve it and I'll remember this."

"Having fun?" Victor asked, interjecting in ther conversation.

"Yes. Just talking to Jaye about Smith and pranks and the deserving. I'm not very good at the mourning part of a wake."

"Yeah, well I feel like shit. You know what happened right after the service? I had to go to the bathroom! So I'm up in our my room, trying to..y'know..go...and I kept thinking about the fish and the flushing and where it was now and I couldn't go!"

Jaye just blinks. A lot.

Walter on the other hand, snickers. A lot. He has a great boyfriend, but he has the occasional weird moment. This would be one of them.
