2nd Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Logan sat on the couch eating Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs and watching cartoons. Multiple boxes of different sugar-coated cereal were on the kitchen counter and there was milk in the fridge, if anyone wanted to join him.

"This is why I tend to stick to coffee," Angel agreed.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders nodded in fervent agreement. "It's not like I have an objection to sugar, but I'm sorta picky about my sugar-intake methods. Something called a Sugar Bomb does not fit into those methods."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel peered at the box curiously. "I wonder what the difference is between that and eating sugar directly?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think eating sugar directly might be safer, actually."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe," Angel kept looking at the box. "Kinda interesting though. Very... bright."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders nodded. "Interesting, yeah, but not in a 'wow, I want to put that in my mouth' kind of way, at least for me."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wasn't gonna put it in my mouth," Angel said, hastily. Then he realized how that sounded. "Or anywhere else. It's just like you can't look away. And is it just me or - " Angel shifted from side to side in his chair " - do the sugar bombs seem to follow you as you move?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders had to test this theory, so he leaned over practically at a 90-degree angle one way, then the other, did the Time Warp took a few steps in either direction, and generally looked like a spaztastic fool. "Okay, yeah, that clinches it. I'm so not eating anything that looks like it might be trying to stalk me."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well sometimes being the one who does the stalking is - " Angel cleared his throat " - uh. Not something I'm ever interested in. Hey, can I ask you something?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Um." Caught a little off-guard by that (not that catching him off-guard was ever really that hard to do), Anders blinked a few times, very rapidly. "Sure?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Guy to guy," Angel added.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Anders said slowly, nodding.

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel leaned forward and lowered his voice for privacy. "You and Cally, you're in love with her, right?"

It was clear that depending on Anders's answer there'd be a followup question.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I -- well, yeah," Anders replied in an equally lowered voice, his tone implying that he might be a bit surprised anyone had to ask. Silly naive boy. Then, in a more affirmative tone, "Yeah, I am."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders scratched his nose as he thought about this. "I don't know," he admitted. "It's not like it hit me all at once or anything. At first I thought I might be but I wasn't sure. And then after a while I just sort of . . . stopped being not sure any more."

He shrugged, apologetically. "Probably not a real helpful answer, if it even makes any sense."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Only time I ever fell in love it hit me all at once," Angel said. He slumped back in his chair. "I kinda figured that's how it worked."

[ooc: will be going afk soonish. back later]

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well, I'm pretty slow that way," Anders laughed. "Cally spent like half of September climbing into my lap and stuff, and I didn't even know why. And this is the first relationship I've ever had, so I can't be all wise about it."

[OOC: 'Tis cool. I'll be in and out most of the afternoon myself.]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"But how could somebody not know?" Angel asked. It's possible he glanced in Logan and Veronica's direction. "I mean - okay, maybe somebody couldn't. But isn't love a big thing? Shouldn't there be signs or something?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think there are only signs if the gods or the powers or whoever don't think it would be funnier to watch us be all crazy about it," said Anders, and he actually kind of halfway meant it. "Anyway, maybe if there were signs people would take it for granted? Or, you know, sometimes people can't read signs."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure, love they ignore but every other damn thing gets a prophecy." It's possible Angel was being whiny. Also pouty.

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders nodded, and was trying very hard not to giggle. Because that would have been not-very-manly, and also kind of mean. "Seriously, I think the gods got a little too addicted to romantic sitcoms one day, and started with the prophecy stuff to cover that up."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Tell me about it," Angel said. He slumped in his chair. "Frankly I think they make the whole damn thing up as they go. How else am I either ending the world or saving it? Hello, kind of a big difference."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Anders shoved his hands in his pockets and leaned against the wall in thought. "You know, sometimes I wish I could have some kind of big destiny or something, 'stead of just being a totally normal guy. Other times I'm kind of glad I don't." He cocked his head and asked, "Did we just totally go off the subject or does this have anything to do with your first question?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-02-26 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"We're good," Angel assured him. "I just... I dunno. Logan and Cam were saying I might be, you know. That. And I'm not sure I see it."

Yes, there were far too many pronouns in that reply to be in any way useful or specific. Angel saw no problem with that whatsoever.
